Recommended Posts

while my car was being sorted by dr tony at the wim meet a few people including me noticed some damage to the passenger side sills which were dented by the local speed humps which are falling apart,i never knew it was that bad.

my cars lowered by 40mm and i can only say it happened on the way to our football training when i pick up 3 people but i cant see that the car being lowered being a problem(can it?)

how do i go about claiming for damages and who do i claim against?

can post some pictures so people can seehow bad the speed humps actually are

Which humps do you suspect of causing the damage? What type are they....full width or the ones like a square on both sides of the road.

It will be tough, how do you prove it was the speed humps, and which ones?

the speed humps are made up of 9 squareish pieces kind of bolted to the road theres approx 5-6 of them along a 200m stretch of road outside a school and most of them have pieces missing and some arent bolted down at all so they bounce up and i think thats whats caused the damage its hard to explain, ill get a couple of photos in a bit of them,at least its a case of neglect

As far as the councils concerned the damage could of been caused by anything, you'll have to prove it and the WIM meet was 2 weeks ago when it was pointed out to you and you cant say for sure if it was those s/humps, and your just contemplating approaching the council.
