Tax Disk Falls Off!

I have a tax disk holder, of the type with a chrome surround that screws together with little allen bolts, then sticks to the window with little clear sticky pads. I actually have two, one for my local parking permit.

Hopefully you know the type I mean?

Well both of them are a couple of years old and have been in and out of a few cars. The sticky pads are now useless, and I have both disks on the dash tray, above the heater vents. Trouble is, everytime I accelerate (hard), they end up down the side of my seat, or even in the back!

I have no idea where to get this little sticky bits from! They have to be clear so as not to look stupid! Any ideas? Other than spend £30 on two new ones, which come with them, of course.

Doing my head in!!!

Thanks for all the replys.

Got them from Halfods in the end.

While I was there, I accidentally shorted the vanity light, trying to change the bulb.

This blew out all the interior lights and the alarm/central locking! Only a fuse, of course.

What better place to blow a fuse, than outside Halfords!

I've had nothing but trouble with the Richbrook type in the past - falling off, needing an allen key to change the tax disc. I had one that was twist release instead of allen keys which wasn't too bad.

I got a Lexus tax disc holder from my dealer and that is great I think. Just a circular magnetic ring and a piece of very thin metal. Works a treat and is much thinner than the Richbrook type.

Also I was impressed with the price, only about 6.99 I think.
