Transit Connect Fuel Economy

I needed to move some stuff yesterday so hired a Transit connect from Sixt.................when I picked it up the tank was full (the fuel indicator was pointing over the "F" line)

Did 32 miles, then filled it up with just under 2 gallons before returning it this morning! Which means it only did 16 mpg!

Is that correct? Or did it just have an inaccurate fuel gauge and they didn't give it to me with a full tank?

Yep it was a diesel.......... :shutit:

You're prob right that the needle stuck up there, when I filled it up it went back to the same position, but it might stay there a bit longer before starting to drop.

If not 16mpg is pretty horrendous for a diesel van..........that's IS220d type economy :P

i get 400 miles to a full tank in my transit,

fuel up to the brim up here at leeds ,hammer it down to london and then hammer it back average speed 80 (tomtom) will get there and back on a full tank

400 miles to a full tank to me seems a bit poor to me :)
