I am looking for a small economical car now and would like a few ideas, no bigger than 1.6

My budget is about £4k and i've been looking at a couple of Corolla's (3-door cos I lke the sportier look) and I like the Seat Leon too, not the latest one, but I know nothing about Seats regarding reliability etc, anyone any views or ideas for other models?

Agree with the above, the Mrs had a 1.8 TDDI, very economical, good performance and handled well. So all round the Diesel Focus was a great car, in fact she wants another one now!

i;ve got a mark 1(55) seat leon, but its a 1.9 diesel.

nothing has gone wrong at all with mine (touch wood) there are always going to be problems with cars. glancing at this forum and seat cupra . net its pretty much the same. most have no problems at all and you only hear it from people when things go wrong! you should be able to get an ibiza (not latest one in the adverts the one before) very light and with a diesel very rapid!

Girlfriends got the yaris 1.3 sr model (slightly sportier) which is really good done 110,000 miles and still on its first clutch. Good on mileage per gallon and for 4k you might be able to get a t sport version.
