Being such a relaxed driver, I rarely use my horn (except at stupid parkers....?) but noticed today that it's sounding like a wheezy old man (the horn, not me!)

Being lazy (it's dark now!) I'll post in case someone knows any obvious reasons. It DOES make an apologetic noise, but not the loud one I recall!

Possibly a air-line flaw (is there an air-line? ) unless it's the pump failing. Will try and locate it tomorrow. All input thankfully received!

Hi Chris

They are electric , in front of the radiator, maybe one has come disconected , there should be a tunning screw behind each one, they are a standard item and would only be a few quid to replace from a local motor factors in the worst case.

The trouble with putting a Viagra tablet in the tank is that the car gets all racey and is likely to overheat for a while.

Actually, had same trouble on a couple of cars and it turned out not to be the horns, but the relay.

Thanks guys,Will have a look. Mr Bean; where's the relay......? (Told you I was idle!)

As to Viagra; (so far) haven't needed to consider it!

If you do need to consider it, you have to swallow it quickly , I believe, otherwise you end up with a stiff neck.....................

when I have been off-roading I usually end up with a horn that is weak. It gets clogged up with mud.

If you have been following traffic that has been kicking up dirty spray you might have the same problem.

A blast with the hose pipe sorts mine out, maybe yours will be the same.

Good luck.

Get them upgraded like this guy did.

They always make me laugh.

Love it !

About 30 yrs ago I met a guy with an Aunty Rover, who had fitted horns from a diesel loco (he worked for BR). The result was hilarious. Long harboured a secret desire to do the same. Prob not legal these days, I guess.
