No Wozza he said earlier on he wanted to go to a place near Birmingham who had worked with Turbo's before.

And Yelarb, i'm not saying ToyotaGT can't do it or wont manage it, whichever Garage you choose is irrelevant. I'm saying to YOU, be careful and make sure everything is to a standard YOU are happy with at the beginning and end before you part with any money or extra money,

Yeldarb, I can see where you're coming from but people here really are IMHO just trying to help you, and warning you to be wary because of the awful experience that some other LOC members have had with their cars being messed up (not by ToyotaGT, of course).

You seem to have agreed a fixed price for the work, which sounds like an immense help if everything will all be done for one price, so if ToyotaGT hit unforseen problems then they'll have to sort it without charging you for it.

I've had some (minor) work carried out at ToyotaGT myself and they obviously know a great deal about the 3S-GTE engine itself, judging by all the other cars that they work on.

It'll be very interesting to follow the progress of this project. Please don't feel like people are criticising you or ToyotaGT here, at the end of the day I'm sure everyone will be extremely happy to see you get the result that you're looking for, after all more garages that do good work on Lexus can only be good for other members, providing more choice etc.

Please try and take the input on this thread as a positive thing, as other LOC members trying to look out for you and make sure you don't get your fingers burned (or worse) as has happened to others in the past.

I'm not very far away from ToyotaGT, and *if* you and they were happy with the idea, then I could pop down there while the work is in progress to take the odd picture to post up on the forums.

yes please take some photos i wont be able to get there to often

Please check with ToyotaGT that they're also happy if I take some photos. I wouldn't just pop down there unannounced when I was going to visit, I'd contact them first.

If ToyotaGT are also happy for me to take some pics, then please let me know once the car goes down there.

some people dont choose their garage wisely so pay the price for their impatience. toyotagt are specialists with the engine and the lexus the best start in my book .

ask the garage for prices not me. I dont set their rates it is not my place to comment which is why i have not said what the final agreed price that is private

Any reason for your post at 11.40am today being the same post as yesterday @ 9.02pm ?

Thats the FOURTH time he's posted the same thing

I'm not sure TGT will like Steve taking the photos. When i suggested i might take some when i had my discs, pads and springs changed they did not like the idea as it is not nice for the mechanic involved - which is totally fair. He did however say that in any project if you tell them what you want photos of, they will take them for you. They seem very accomodating if need be - the photos werent a big deal so didnt bother.

I was thinking this, so i have dug out my old Fuji film digi camera and a 1 gig microdrive, so they can snap away to their hearts content!! I will ask though when I take the car down at the end of the month. We are just waiting for the parts to arrive, there is no point in starting a job unless you have the parts to do the project!!

too true mate!!

sounds like there's gonna be a lot to look forward to over the coming months. Again, hope it all works out matey.

What sort of BHP and torque do you think you'll be getting when the conversions done??
