Airflow Meter 0n 1990 Ls400

does anyone know please . does an airflow meter affect the performance.why i ask is because my lexus goes better in the good weather. there is a flat spot every now and again.i wastold it was the throttle position sensor but i have replaced this and it still falters. any help appreciated. thanks gil

Might be worth cleaning the throttle body first to eliminate it.....

As Royt suggests clean the TB 1st.

If you still have a problem pull the engine codes to see if a stored fault is present.

The airflow meter on the early LS's is a Karmen Vortex type generally very reliable but expensive new ( if you can still get them) However there are normally some S/H on eBay.

Make sure you change the air filter at the correct service intervals and make sure there is no debris in the filter box which could get sucked into the AFM and damage it as they are very sensitive.
