Just wondering as I need to change my brakes too, how would one fit these braided brake lines??

really easy mate, they just swap out - if ur quick and have a 2nd pair of hands you can just undo the old lines (with a finger over the hose to stop fluid peeing everywhere) and attach the new lines. took us and hour MAX to get them all done

you gotta make sure the path of the new lines follws that of the old, otherwise they can catch on the wheel - not good!!

i woud just give them when i get my brake pads changed. i was wondering should i get the brape pads changed all around or just front ones

thanks

thats up to you mate and depends really how worn the rears are. about 60-70% of all braking comes through the front wheels so the back pads/discs will last a lot longer. wouldn't hurt IMHO to change the lot, but if the back's in good nick, i'd stick with them??

Not dissing the EBC's matey, wasn't considering the greenstuff one's was thinking the ultimax which i'm sure a really good pads but the Mintex are quite abit cheaper and by all accounts just as good, glad your happy with yours and I may even use EBC in future if i'm not impressed with the Mintex.

Hmmm looks like you wont be going near EBC then :whistling:

Will be going for the Mintex because their about £15 cheaper, may use EBC in the future depends on how good/bad the Mintex are, don't really see there being any problems with them if Chris uses them all the time they must be doing something right. Think i'll wait until the disk need doing before upgrading them and may do the lines then aswell.

Having used both OEM and upgrades. I can say that OEM will produce a lot of brake dust. They do the job intended though.

The EBC really cuts down on brake dust both the green and redstuff.

Green stuff i found a bit too soft and not good enough for more than 200bhp.

Redstuff definitely a big improvement and felt better. No need if youre running under 200bhp though.

The drilled discs are really for cars with big performance. Other than that you are buying for the look. I was running Black Diamond drilled and grooved.

I've got grooved and dimpled discs at the front and OEM (soon to be replaced) rears. For me it's really about looks, as i know i don't brake hard enough to even over load the use of the OEM brake discs performance. The brand im using is 3G RS-10 (think it was £172 for a set of front discs), i noticed it bites alot better when pressed hard compared to OEM ones. Don't go for grooved and drilled (unless it's a very good brand, you can tell by the price lol, over £200 for a set of discs) as they tend to crack and warp, thats what happens to cheap discs with drilled holes does.

Image, can you spot the air valve?

I've got one question about braded hoses, when you purchase them do they come in pairs and is it always good practice to replace all hoses, as in both front and rear (if rear have hoses at all?).

p.s don't forget to paint/spray the new discs with hammerite smooth silver before fitting them to stop them from rusting in the places the brake pads don't touch.

I can recommend the goodridge hoses. I've had them on my car now for 2yrs. Also running DBA 4748SR grooved discs at the front with mintex pads. The car certainly has bite now and i never feel like i need more stopping power. It's probably a little over kill for a car running stock power, but i like it.
