Just Picked Up My Is220d - Help Needed

Recommended Posts

I collected my first Lexus yesterday, a 2007 IS 220D SE with MM. Two days in very happy but I was hoping some more knowledgeable people on here can help with 4 issues.

1) I paired my Nokia 6300 with no problems but I cannot transfer my contacts to the MM, I followed the instructions for my phone but as soon as I try to start the transfer to the MM my phone displays "Bluetooth Disconected", once I cancel the transfer via the MM the phone connects again.

2) In the manual it states you can change the settings for the keyless entry so only the drivers door unlocks and the passenger and back doors unlock only if the passenger door is opened but I do not understand the instructions, can anyone explain what needs to be done.

3) The manual also states you can set the car to autolock when you go over 12km per hour but I could not get this to work.

4) How do you get the amber and red speedo lights to work, I can set the speed and the amber comes on but no idea how you get the red lights on ?

The dealership said that the car cannot do points 2 & 3 but the manual says it can

Any help for a new Lexus owner would be very appreciated.

:)

If you bought the car from a Lexus dealer then I would expect them to know ALL the answers . Even if they couldn't on the spot then they should offer to make enquiries and come back to you. I'm sure members will be back to you with what you want to know.

Personally, I do not have high expectations of car salesman knowledge. Just occassionally, I come across one who is superb, bit of a shock really. The last time was a BMW dealership in Warrington. He really new his BMW's.

Red Status

When in setup mode use Cruise lever to adjust speedo

Does this mean that if you use the cruise lever the red will come on but not the amber ?

Cheers

hi steve,

i had a bit of trouble transferring my contacts from my nokia as well, in the end i got it to transfer my contacts by first pairing my phone with the car, then selecting all the contacts and sending them to the car as "business cards" - all of my contacts transfered in a matter of seconds

i think issues 2 and 3 need to be resolved by the dealers, mine auto locks

as for the amber light on the speedo - that can be set using the buttons on the lower right hand side of the dashboard - the same buttons that turn on/off the parking sensors, etc... it can be used to set the revs aswell, as for the red light - this only comes on once the car gets to 100mph.......... not sure if that can be changed (ofcourse not that i've ever been that fast !)

Thanks for that Manjit, I figured out the business card thing last night.

It appears the autolock only works on the Auto but the manual kind off suggest it would work on the diesel as well but the dealer is looking into points 2 and 3 for me.

Fair enough on the red light, I guess why I thought it could be set was on a test drive the red light came on and I was not lookng at the speedo (oops).
