Just Bought Some Hids

Just bought hids off eBay. bought a kit for the headlights and a kit for the fogs both 8000k B)

Cost me in total £105 delivered. Should be here tomorrow or Wednesday

Is there any point in putting HIDS in the foglights? Not saying you shouldn't, but I can't see the point? Will it give more light or is it for looks?

I've got a HID kit in the main headlights, not in the fogs (in fact I've only used the front fogs on my car a few times since owning my car. Had my car for 7 years next month).

Which kit did you buy? A link would be good.

well before anyone says anything i dont drive around with my fogs on when its not foggy......but it is just the look if I am honest. and i have used my fog lights 4 or 5 times in the 5 months i have owned it.

i dont see the point in putting hid kit in the fogs. pointless but if you got money to waste then why not

8k's are too white/blue for foggy conditions you are just going to dazzle yourself the best colour to go for in your fogs is around the 3k mark which is a crisp yellow light.

in all honesty i think fog lights are generally a waste of time anyway on the front they just look good. but thats pretty much why i bought them as they will match then. ive seen quite a few mercs with bluey white foggies??

Should do- if not, then unplug the hid kit and put the standard bulbs back in.

I guess each to their own opinion. I've got 6000k dipped and also in fogs, here in B'ham. Yes they are not meant to be used during daytime etc.. though i've drove with them on almost everyday since i've had them fitted (about a month or so).. I've gone past cops atleast over 20times and not yet have I been pulled. I've probs got flashed by other drivers maybe twice/thrice but that's about it. Imo they look stylish and will certainly look even more stylish when i'll be driving with the fogs and a CCFL kit on! =) But for the folks who said they only use it the odd 4/5 times, then i'd agree it would be a waste spending so much on getting the conversion on the fogs.

well imo i think it was a good deal. Why pay £50 to have nice headlights and then go and put foglights on that dont match. may as well just do both or save the £50 and do neither. They should be here 2moro and i will fit them as soon as i get them so will take a picture and let you everyone see
