hi guys,

am new here you may have been asked this so many times in the past, which is better the IS200 or IS300? in an auto (i know there ant alot of manual 300's around)

i have had a few cars over the years with small 1.3l engines (almost killed the poor car) and big engines like 4.0l jeep AWD and a vectra with a 2.5l v6 FWD have neaver had a RWD car tho, the main thing i can not get my head around is how much more fuel the 300 uses over the 200 my girlfriends dad has a older GS300 which goes like a rocket when he wants it to but does have a good mpg should he drive nomal, having read 100's of reviews on both size engines, from what i understeand the 200 auto seems to lack power in low revs ? is this the case if so do you find that you are having to drive the car harder in which case are you using more fuel than you would in a 300 model?

sorry for a long ish 1st post any help that you can give would be great

thanks.

Mate, if funds allow I'd go for the IS300 (all IS300's are autos). Only go for the IS200 if you want a manual (IS200's come as manuals as well as autos).

Welcome to LOC.

I think if you take your time, an IS300 is a better option. It is not a big difference in the MPG, but definitely a big difference to drive.

Ahmed

ALL RIGHT Tony,

I have some spare time to reply to you today.

IS200 Auto returns me 25MPG an IS 300 Auto will give you about 27MPG, so there is no much difference. however, the IS300 is much more fun to drive around. I don't think the low rev on IS200 Auto is that bad, just more fun in the IS300.

search the posts here you will find tons of info what to look out for......

Good luck for your search, take your time

Felix
