I have recently bought a 2001 LS 430 . sadly it only came with one black key fob . what is the best way to get a new key ? should i have a master key like other makes of cars ? the key also does not open the boot (boot release button ) i'm hopeing a new key will cure this . any thoughts ?

It would seem that the key you have is the "valet" key which allows driving of the car but will not open the boot or glovebox for security/privacy reasons.

To programme a new key you need the master key which you probably don't have given the above.

It may be the only option that you will have to go to a Lexus dealer where they may be able to provide a master key from you VIN plate but be prepared for the price shock!
