Coolant Gauge

I'd like to know two things about the heating/coolant in the IS250

1. How long does your car take to warm up? Mine takes a good twenty minutes with normal driving. I think this is way too long.

2. When it does warm up, where does your coolant gauge sit? Mine is never half way where I would expect it to be.

The reason I'm asking is that my other car (BMW) heats up within 5 minutes and gauge sits bang on centre between cold and hot.

Anything to worry about?

Mine does take an age to start blowing warm air at me, my old vectra used to start blowing hot after about a mile!

My temp guage is about a third to half once warm.

I am on my second IS250 and, on both of them, it takes around 15 minutes (depending on driving conditions) to warm up fully, and the gauge needle sits less than half-way. Your experience seems to be normal based on my admittedly small sample size.

DONE THE SAME CHANGED FROM A BMW TO A 220D AND FOUND THE SAME TEMP GUAGE NEVER REACHES HALFWAY AND TAKES AN AGE TO GET WARM 15 MINUTES AT LEAST THE BM WAS A LOT QUICKER AND ALWAYS DEAD CENTRE ON THE GUAGE

Temperature gauge is "c.35 minutes past 12" when up to temperature & takes 5 mins to reach a cab temp of 21c.However have not driven this car in minus temperatures and the car is always garaged overnight but would not expect much longer warm-up times

albeit from a garage.
