what do wou think off the lexus is350 with tom's supercharger. over a is-f

If you're talking about the ex-Prolex one then it's probably a good buy. The IS-F is a bit quicker and has more torque, but if you want a fast road car the IS350 S/C would be fine.

Bear in mind the 350 is an import and a 2005 car whereas the IS-Fs are 2008 cars so the price difference isn't too bad taking that into account.

Also things like the satnav doesn't work I believe (or didn't when I asked a while back) - personally if you can afford it I'd go for the IS-F as if we're talking about the prolex one as it seems a car that's had a relatively hard life.......

the 350 is 12k cheaper than the next is-f. although i have a m3 i like the extra bits on the f model

does anyone know much about prolex is350?

You can find all you need to know of its history on the internet. It's regularly taken part in the Toyota 'Time Attack' series, but with the extensive brake and suspension mods to the car I don't think it's suffered that much. Although it's a 2005/6 model the satnav is a hard drive rather than disk, so updating it from the Japanese may be a problem. Depends on how much he's asking for it, but I wouldn't personally pay more than around 14K, even if it's pretty unique in the UK.

I did a google check it had a bit off track life. I would want to take the light interior out for black.

Same as our f sport

Also thinking off looking at a m3 saloon

This incident in particular totally puts me off that car even if I ever did think it might be a possibility.

Probably not that serious in real terms, but just something I'd be uncomfortable with.

Excellent photo of me there too :whistling:

I was actually in the car with Dave when this happened during the practice runs for Time Attack at Brands Hatch in (I believe) 2008

Yes quite simply a wheel came off - this was due to the wheels just having been refurbished and powder-coated and the company who powder-coated them incorrectly coated all the wheel including the back where the wheel goes to the hub - consequently the heat from the brakes/hub etc melted the coating which allowed play and loosened the wheel nuts resulting in the front passenger wheel deciding it wasn't going to go round the corner with the car - hence the car was driven straight onto the grass as soon as we realised something was wrong (and tbh at 1st thought it was a blow out as the noise & feel was exactly the same as a blow out).

The car was fully & professionally repaired after the incident and I've seen it and been in it since and haven't noticed any problems at all.

TBH it's a nice car (not to my taste but then all cars are like Marmite ) it has a good amount of power but also the luxury at the same time - I've no idea how much it's up for but guess if it's a reasonable price then it's worth it of that's what you're looking for :D

It's easy to insure yould need to look into it alot and maybe won't be able to sell my m3 what do you all think it's worth

Regarding insurance, I guess it would be easier to ask the seller who he currently has it insured with as they will therefore know the car, there are a few about who specialise in 'one off's' so to speak - my car is the only one of it's kind in the country and I have it with A-Plan who apart from Adrian Flux were the only ones who seemed to be able to understand what it was

As for price, I know the car orignially cost a few bob due to all the conversion work being done by Tom's in Japan but I think the trouble is with a current price is that you can't just look in a Glass's Guide ;) I'd guess that the general price rule would be standard 350 price with a £k or two loading on top but then I'm no expert :duh:
