Removing Satnav Screen ?

Recommended Posts

factory pop up item , sometimes the error code "check for correct dvd" comes up & won't work , then when it does the features of up to date tomtom's are much better so was thinking

anyone taken out the screen & fitted in new touchscreen aftermarket unit to the pop up unit ? would need to wire the unit direct also

has it been done already chaps ?

I fitted a 7" touchscreen in my nav housing, althoug I've since sold it.

Not particularly hard to do, you'll need a power feed, video out, and USB lead.

What would you be connecting the screen to?

not really thought , do i have options ?

just planned to use a current widescreen satnav unit (navman/garmin etc) placed in the flip up unit so nav hides away when not in use
