Valve Clearances/auto Box Oil.

hi guys, i recently bought a ls 400 97, i was thinking about doing valve clearances ?? is this a nightmare job? and do they often need adjustment? also auto box oil. again easy to do and is it neccessary?? thanks.. :)

Hi, Quite a major job adjusting the valve clearances, special tools required and the shims are expensive. These engines do have a bit of valve rattle but does no harm. If you still want to go ahead the tutorial is below. http://www.lextreme.com/valve_clearance.html Transmission fluid is either a full flush or drain and refill Pleanty of information on www.lexls.com Fluid tutorial link below http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/transmission/transchange.html You can also flush the fluid by disconnecting the fluid cooler pipe,starting the engine to pump some of the fluid out stopping the engine and then top up the fluid. Sorry cannot find tutorial for this

Only use Toyota Type IV fluid nothing else will do!
