Just had a look at cars for sale on this site and lexus staffordshire have a mk1 like mine with twice the mileage same colour for 14k are they having a laugh or is this a true reflection of what they might get .Surely you can buy a mk2 for that sort of money or even a nice is200

You could surely buy a tidy GS mk2 for £14k. funny that you get more car for you money than £14k spent on an IS. But I guess the IS is a much more desireable car all round. Saying that. I can't see anyone paying over £10k for a Mk 1 GS300 even on a dealer forcourt. the price is more likely a reflection of the cost of preparation the car needs to qualify as an approved used Lexus!

I shouldn't be so cynical though. maybe this is a good time to advertise my Lexus for £20k!

On that note, dealers often place ads for cars that don't exist at higher prices than the market would sustain, so when the punter gets down the list to the ones they can a) afford and B) have "been sold mate!" they are grateful to be getting your bargain, which in reality was the only car really for sale anyway!
