Cam Shaft Pulley Confusion....

i recently replaced my timing belt,upon installing,the service manual says to line up the timing mark " o " with the engine mark...when i follow the " o " my cams are not TDC,but when i align the " l " mark....my cams are TDC,im really confused about this.....any help guys?

the manual states to align with the 60 deg BTDC dot mark rather than using the TDC marks. Provided you use the same marks on the cam and crack you should be ok to use either. The reason to use 60 deg BTDC is so you can rotate the cams without the valves hitting the top of the pistons, which could happen if you have a piston at TDC.

So as long as my crank timing is at 0* and my cam timing is at TDC using the " l " timing mark...its good to go?
