I always use the same local independent garage, always fair and they charge £40.00 opposed to £54.85.

I do all my own maintainance so they only see me once a year, plus they will collect and redeliver the car from my home.

At the end of the day it's personal choice.

A.mot is a mot no matter where its done as there are rules and regulations laid down that have to be adhered to, so actually passing one matters not where its done saying that prices vary greatly from what independents charge compared to main dealers so that bit brings options and choice.

I always take my cars to a M.O.T station that ONLY does M.O.T’s

That way I am pretty sure it has failed for a reason and if I take it back to then within 10 days the re M.O.T is free.
