Hi there I've had my lexus rx300 ( 2006) for 3 years and not 1 problem however, went to go out this morning and the front and rear seat wells were saturated with water!!!! Has any body else had this problem? Or has anybody got any idea what could be causing it?

I've checked my radiator and screen wash and its not coming from there, and I don't know where else it could come from.

If anybody has any suggestions I would be sooooo grateful, love my car

Thanks Debbie

I think this problem has been covered on here before so it might be worth doing a search. From memory it's to do with the drain pipes from the sun roof getting blocked so the water ends up in the car as there's nowhere else for it to go. Maybe worth getting some plastic pipe from B&Q and see if you can push it down the drainpipes.

If not, do please post on how you got it sorted.

Sunroof channels was going to be my answer too! I've had that problem with a couple of cars previously. Are there any oth drainage channels down the side of the doors that might have got blocked? Perhaps either side of the engine bay? It is really strange that all four footwells have got wet simultaneously so perhaps it is something else? I hope someone more knowledgeable is along to help soon!

I remember another similar case and the cause was due to a rubber grommit seal on a cable loom where it exits the car under the rear seat base. This comes adrift and water is then forced into the car whilst driving.

There could of course be other reasons but the above is fairly easy to check.

Welcome to the LOC as well.

Hi there, thanks very much to everybody that has got back to me. Been out checking the car all over today and still none the wiser. I haven't had the windscreen replaced however I think that is where the water is coming from! I have lifted the carpet at the front passenger side and there was about an 1 inch of water so I removed the gromit and drained the water and have tried to suck out as much water as possible using the vax, but going to take it to the garage tomorrow and see if they can figure it out. I'll let you know what they say, thanks very much again
