hi chris,

i spoke to them on wednesday just gone about this as i was asking for a price on a snapped key, i just asked the price of the ATF just out of curiosity as many people say change it with age, mines an 53/2004 with 50k, so coming up to ten years old, thought it might need changing,

Cause that's what it says in the manual. So long as an oil meets their requirements then you can use any really.

How else do they expect you to come back and put your money their way?

You need this mate... Lexus and Toyota only sell ATF T4 in bulk 25 litres

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/vsearch.aspx?SearchTerm=Toyota%20ATF%20T4

so why does everyone on here say yo use toyota stuff?

because most have used other oils besides Toyotas own brand and have expericed shifting issues and gearbox cooling problems. its just like spark plugs iridium tip Bosch will work but after a while one starts to experience misfire and cylinder problems unless the recommended NGK or Denso ones are used.
