Hi All,

Just Joined . I have bought an IS200 SE 2001 in Platinum Ice 142,000 miles , I am enjoying the experience so far. My MOT is due in 3 weeks so wish me luck. I have changed from a Golf GTI lowered, black windows etc etc and since I am now 43 and changed jobs (Contracts Engineer) I thought I would buy this more tastefull model I paid £875.

Hi and welcome. Thats a nice price. I find it amazing how you can by a IS from anything around £800 upto 3 or 4k. I hope its a decent one... let us know how the MOT goes. any advisories on the previous?

I upgraded from a 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Auto 3 door which was my 2nd car. This is the first car im proud of owning and care about, its a great feeling :)

I must say ive nothing against Golf's but they do seem to be attracting the, lets say, less matures drivers these days

The advisories on last one where handbrake travel but I know for sure it will need rear brakes and pads for MOT. Have the usual cd player problem taken it apart an seems the main drive motor is not spinning, I dont want to go aftermarket but looks like the only option. glsd to see the back off the Golf had my fun with that. I need to get the front and rear bumpers sprayed on the 200 but shouldnt cost too much any ideas how much?

Previous owner scraped mine and did a pretty shoddy repair job, looks ok from a distance but close up a bit touchy upy... i did see this when i bought mine as well as a few other niggles and knocked a £100 off lol

Still, I found a big ding in the bonnet when i got home though :megaangry:

Once got a tailgate from bham, seemed a bit of a sketchy place, but haggled him down a fair bit. Just keep an eye out of eBay for one closer, one will pop up. Also search for IS200/300 that ppl are breaking and ask for a price on the bumper
