Back Again Wanting Ls430

Recommended Posts

Good evening!

Well after really wanting a LS430 about 6 years ago, I ended up in a Alfa 166 FL Ti. (thread on here somewhere) After the Alfa I had a IS 200 Sportcross which I loved and I think was my favourite ever all round car. OK, so I think I'm more aware of the lS400/430 debate and I have been watching LS400s closely on eBay for a few weeks now. I have an E Class estate that is currently coming to the end of its lease. So I now have been offered a car allowance, well I offer it to me as I work for myself.

So I've set myself a budget for £3k. An upgrade to a LS430 from an E Class 220CDI (downgrade in MPG!) What about this?

Down to 2.5K. I've emailed today re owners, cambelt history etc. Note no air suspension, seems that could be a good thing?

I also have on my list: Honda Accord Estate 2.4 Auto: Renault Avantime 3Lt, but I think I really want a LS. Think about it for 3K what can you get that may be reliable.... Peugeot 407? Ford Mondeo? Mazda 6? Citroen C5? I have drive an LS430 a few times and enjoyed it. Also I have loads of cassettes, there very in now don't you know?

You just missed a MK4 LS400 with only 28K on the clock FSH went for £2500. Mike

Looks a superb buy, The air suspension was my main gripe with the 430 I had for a mere 5 weeks before going back to a 400, not as smooth a ride & costly when it goes wrong. If I had bought that I would probably still have it. Love my mark4 though.
