Help Overheating Is 200

The lexus is raising tempereture to the red bar and changing revs on its own. Have checked the head gasket its still good. Checked the fan relay fuse its good. When connect the fan dirrectly it mantains its normal temepereture. The fuel gauge light is flashing as well. How can I solve this.

hi have you checked the coolant level in the radiator not just in the header tank

I didnt think we had a header tank?

Yeah we do bill, look at the back of your radiator. How have you been checking the coolant level if not on the gauge in the header tank?

Really? wow ok cant believe I have missed that. I renewed my coolant myself last year but used the Rad cap. I have since checked it by looking under the rad cap.

To the left of the rad cap is another cap (black plastic) marked coolant. This is where the header tank is. It's also a lot easier to top up coolant using that cap :)

Haha ok now I feel like a bit of a dunce....However I did follow a guide posted on LOC for renewing my coolant! I am def going to look tonight! Cheers

can you provide a link to the guide you used? Clearly needs an update if it didn't mention the radiator reservoir.
