Evening all.

My name is Martin from Hampshire. I've owned a 2010 IS 250C, in black, for the past 18 months. I'm Enjoying the car very much and finding it very practical, even with the roof down. I experienced a few issues with a rattly roof mechanism which I got sorted under warranty but so far no other issues. Never owned a black car before this one, anyone else find it a nightmare to keep looking good?

Looking forward to sharing views with other IS owners.

Martin.

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

I like the 250c saw one at an Open Road Event a couple of years ago but didn't get the chance to drive it.

Black is a nightmare colour to keep looking good as you point out.

Feel free to post up pictures but please hide any identifying marks.

Hi Steve.

One of the things that appealed to me about the 250C was its rarity. (i.e it isn't a 3 series BMW) It does receive quite a few comments. Many people think it's a little like the Volvo S40 cabrio at first glance. Fortunately I'm a little OCD when it comes to cleaning cars.

I've attached a pic

Looks very nice,lovely deep shine.

I find polishing cars very theraputic.

I think they stand very well looking sturdy even with the roof down, I would imagine there is no body flex.

Are you anywhere near Petersfield?

Very nice.

You're right of course, black is very high maintenance, but on the plus side, it looks the business when polished, as your pic proves.

I might yet get one of these cars, looks nice on Last Tango in Halifax too.

I thought it was an SC430 in that programme?

Funny you should say that Steve.

I watched it with Mrs V the other night, and said the same to her.

Maybe the last series had a different car?

Never seen Last Tango in Halifax but that is definitely an IS 250C in the pic. Unfortunately it kind of reinforces the Lexus for old people stereotype.

Oh well, I'm 64, so if I get one I'll wear a balaclava............wouldn't want to add to your misery.

Certainly not misery on my part. I'm very proud to own the car and think it's a far more interesting alternative to the fleets of BMW 3 series and Audi equivalents. It's those same BMW and Audi owners that seemingly try to enforce the aforementioned Lexus stereotype in order to justify their unimaginative and overpriced choice of vehicle. Just my experience to date.
