Would You Modify Your Isf?

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of you feel the ISF is the finished package but i was wondering how many owners would modify their cars?

For me an intake and exhaust is all i intend to to purely to release more sound. The rest of the car is just how i like it.

depends... At the moment its fine but as and when things wear out i may upgrade. I think an exhaust would be high on my list as it would be nice to hear the v8 a little more, but id be careful about ruining the quiet and refined cruising nature of the car. Id upgrade the sat nav and ice too, streaming Bluetooth would be nice and the sat nav is showing its age.

Just to clarify, we are not looking to make any Peco/Bake Bean popping, flame spitting exhaust system for this iconic car. ;)

Intention is to allow a bit more of that lovely V8 burble to emerge than the standard system.

As and when we develop something over at Whifbitz, we will look at all the option including an electronic valve to give the user full control over how much noise they want from it.

I have no intentions on making such a great car sound anything like a barried up Saxo or Punto etc!

Agreed, for one it's a 5L cross plane crank V8; you couldn't make it sound like a Saxo even if you stole a couple of Peco exhaust whilst they were getting their McDonalds! The standard system is too quiet for a vehicle of this type; or the very least Lexus should have fitted an adjustable valve to the exhaust.

Something like this would be nice (listen with headphones advisable)

As for modding the rest of it, a set of Bilsteins would be nice, as these are much more suited to our roads. An uprated rear ARB also to dial out some of the understeer, which manufacturers put in for safety.

It would definitely pass emissions test as the cat is still in place. Those silencer back boxes are huge!

Still want real tail pipes though. Sound is spot on for me. Cheap solution compared to full system.
