Tore,

thanks for an info.

I think, I must to drive the 2015 demo car.

Maybe I shall to switch to the newer version - I have an option to get this car in the leasing.

Unless the service will do something... Maybe the next software upgrade?

regards,

Dominik.

Hi Tore,

have you found something else interesting in your 2015?

I'm curious how you feel the car after more time you spend under the steering wheel, still no vibrations?

Regards,

Dominik.

Dominik,

The car drives and feels... like a Lexus :D

I initially felt some weak vibrations at 1300rpm, but they seems to be gone completely now (at approx 1500km). Basically, I'm a very happy man.

Best regards

Tore

Interesting that it anyway it was there, but disappeared. Maybe is it because the tires was new?

A few day ago I was trying to record this vibration, but with no luck. I should use some fixed, piezzo microphones I supose.

How did you estimate the frequency?

Day by day, I'm more furious feeling this... I have 1kkm left to the 30k service, and I want left them my car until they do something,

regards,

Dominik.

Dominik,

The vibrations in "Stevens" (Named so by my friends after the known artist "Shakin' Stevens", for obvious reasons) were easy to record, as they were very pronounced. I used my Iphone to record, and did a Fourier-transform of the recording to see a graph of the frequency spectrum. There was an obvious spike at 43Hz, which corresponds well to the torque pulses from a 4-cylinder 4-stroke engine running at 1300 rpm.

The reason the vibrations aren't bothering me any more may be partly that I have switched to sommer tires, which are significantly firmer than the winter tires in the temperature we are having now - thus reducing the amplitude of the driveline osccilations and partly because they are so weak they don't bother me any more...

Another site to look at is: http:/www.spiritmonitor.de/en/

This will add another 20-40 vehicles to compare, depending on the years that you plumb in.

Regards and happy Easter.

Thanks :-)

Nice site also, however it lacks a summary for model / year or something.

Tore wrote that his 2015 is "faster", so I'm trying understand this, can't get any info from Lexus directly - they still standing with "no changes at all" sentence.

Maybe they changed accelerator map - so car would indeed feels faster, but also a consumption should rise. Something like driving always in Sport mode.

Happy Easter too!

Dominik.

Dominik,

I still think the new car is more responsive than the old one, but I'm inclined to believe this is due to individual differences between examples rather than any model changes done by Lexus.

It is very hard to record, more you can feel it than hear.

Just switch your dashboard to RPM display, turn off ASC, and on flat long road where you can drive with stable 70-90kmph try to stick to 1300 RPMs.

Many thanks, will try to find time to do that..

... if you hear the vibration, paddle down a 'gear' and it should go; then you know you have the problem. But as it's been 'fixed' more than a year ago, I doubt you have much to fear.

i think it wasn't fixed in 2015 model version. ToreOe wrote about this - he's got replacement his car for the 2015 model, and he found the vibration issue is the same.

also I drove GS300h '2015 and I found the same vibration issue as well.

Experienced exactly the same! Got the car delivered on summer tyres - no problems at all! After changing to winter wheels, the behaviour of the car changed. Like driving on rough tarmac, and vibration at speed above 90 - 100 km/h. Thought it had to do with the tyres or the rims, and contacted the Lexus-vendor. After testing they concluded that the problem had to do with some kind of dampers that now will be installed nexr week. Hope it works. They also told me that this was a known issue also from other IS300h

Jostein,

Just out of curiosity, are you running 18" rims in the summer and 17" for winter? It seems the vibrations are more common on cars with 17" rims than on cars on 18" or 16".

Speaking of winter - as the temperature has dropped lately, I feel the damper is loosing some of it's effect. Not so much in the 80-90km/h range as in the 60km/h range. Probably the rubber getting stiffer, disturbing the "tuning" of the damper.
