Cat Removal?

Need the help of the UK members knowledge for a moment... Lots of our NZ members are asking about removal of the Catalytic converters on the standard IS and RS exhausts, and as to if there is any great gain in doing this??

I must say I've been contemplating it myself, removed JUST the pre-cats on my last IS but the rest of exhaust was standard-it sounded different(raspier)but no real noticable performance gain.

I currently have a Cat-back exhaust(trd altezza),sounds great,but

may be neding to get a bit more flow if I wish to gain more horsepower(thinking S/Charge)

would appreciate any feedback-Hopefully some of the UK members have done it...

Regards,Gav.

removing the precats, is well worth it in more ways than 1

the precats are badly made anyway, and will eventually break up, blocking the main cat and exhaust,

secondly removing the precats will remove a very restrictive part of the exhaust manifold, a gain would defo be noticed if done in conjunction with the supercharger
