Hi all,

I would like to know the cables from the IS200 ECU that are used for :

- Pressure sensor

- RPM Signal

- Throttle Position Sensor

I need them for my S-AFR and my dealer doesn't want to provide me the info :duh:

Thanks

Info as seen where wires connect to engine ECU.

Intake Vacuum

==========

'PIM' terminal on ECU, Wire is Green + Red stripe (Pin 9, Plug D).

Throttle Position

===========

'VTA' terminal on ECU, Wire is White with Red stripe (Pin 23, Plug D).

0.4-1.0 volt with ignition on and throttle fully closed.

3.2-4.8 volt with ignition on and throttle fully open.

Intake Vacuum + Throttle Position share the same +5v supply.

Wire for this is Blue with Yellow stripe (Pin 2, Plug D).

Engine RPM (Crankshaft Sensor)

======================

'NE+' terminal on ECU, Shielded wire, Black with White stripe (Pin 23, Plug E).

Hope that helps but i accept no responsibility for errors or omissions :shifty:

Tony, are you going to tell him which plug is which..... :whistling:

:D :D

Gotta let the guy have at least a BIT of fun don't we :blink:

Maybe i'll see what i can do later if need be :blush:

Oh and if you're soldering onto the existing wires .....

<< :P Mat knows what's coming next :P >>

DON'T be tempted to blow the solder dry....

You might cause it to crack and make a bad joint :winky:

Hmmmm, visions of molten solder sitting in a chair, rolling a spliff :duh: B)

:offtopic::oops:

I tried to connect it today. Here is what I did :

AFR wire -> ECU wire

12V ignition -> one of the red with blue stripe wires on the connector that has lots of

Ground -> screwed to chassis

-- At this point, the AFR go on when I turn the key and all is ok

Pressure sensor to ecu -> Green + Red stripe (Pin 9, Plug D)

Pressure sensor from ecu -> Green + Red stripe (Pin 9, Plug D)

-- The wire has been cut so the AFR is between the ecu and the sensor

RPM Signal -> Black with White stripe (Pin 23, Plug E)

-- it is said it must be a 5V digital signal

Throttle position sensor signal -> White with Red stripe (Pin 23, Plug D)

The problem is : whatever I connect except vcc and gnd, the engine doesn't start (it does the same thing as if the Battery level was too low) As soon as I disconnect the AFR (except 12V and GND), the engine strats with no prob :duh: I checked it at 11.85V

Have I done something wrong ?

The air meter type is selected by a dip switch : Hot Wire (0-5V), Hot Wire (5-0V) , Karmen Vortex or pressure sensor. I tried the four and none of them change anything. I believe it is a pressure sensor on the IS200 :unsure:

The throttle position wire (white + red) is for throttle valve opening.

There is another signal (VPA) into ecu on pin 15 plug D (Light Green + Black stripe).

This is the accel position signal - indicates pedal position i guess.

IS200 has motorised throttle valve, maybe S-AFR would use pedal position instead ?

RPM wire (black + white) is crankshaft signal into ecu.

Maybe output from ecu (TACH) to rev meter is better ?

Black wire on pin 12 plug A.

ECU plugs go A B C D E with A nearest the front of the car.

Hope that helps.

Finally, it is now working :yahoo: :yahoo:

The problem was with the RPM wire,

RPM wire (black + white) is crankshaft signal into ecu.

Maybe output from ecu (TACH) to rev meter is better ?

Black wire on pin 12 plug A.

I did this and it works since then :yahoo:

Would anyone know if the speed output from the IS200 ECU is Pin 28 (Plug B) W-L. Is this the same output for both manual and auto?

Also is the ignition, Pin 9 (Plug A) B-O?

Thanks :question:

Switched Ignition (IGSW) Pin 9 plug A looks like Black + Red stripe (B-R)

I think the B-O is on pin 10 - seems to go to coil side of a relay.

As you say, speed is pin 28 plug B (White + Light blue).

Note does say M/T but i can't find anything different for auto.

Looks like may be different for nav system - same colours though.
