Today first thing in the morning went to start the car, it started but then stopped, sounded just like when you are starting the car with a key and you release the key turning too early. It's as if the car thought the engine was started when it wasnt fully started and hence it stopped. This happened once before about a year ago. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's a bit like when you reset your ECU by disconnecting the Battery and the first startup always fails. It seemed a bit like that. But Battery wasnt disconnected.

Had this a couple of times before. In both cases, I had had the car in "on" mode but without engine started for a few minutes before hand.

Possibly, the ECU had got confused by the long "on" period without engine running, and had decided to do a self-test on the next start, like it does on the first start attempt.

Can't believe this, the same thing happened to me this morning though I had started the car OK first thing, but then having returned to car later the same thing happened, that is, it started then almost immediately stopped, been fine since though, stopped and started a few times since,,,,,very odd.

My remote has a new Battery, so not assuming it's that.

This has happened to me a couple of times too. Just put it down to a 'characteristic' of the car. It always started the second time, so it's never really bothered me.
