how does one take off the oem tips? without getting a hernia...

The manual says to just bash them with a plastic hammer (from the exhaust box side). Actually it says 'uniformly tap' - good luck with that!

lol, this is in the manual? i am sure they are not entirely right as clips are used to keep them in place that need to be pushed up somewhat i am sure.

I've just done the chrome tips on my son's Audi. That had 4 spikes around the inner circumference. So you can push them on 'reasonably' easily (actually had to flatten the spikes down a tad).

But....Getting them off was a real ball ache. It took a lot a brute force tugging. It was very difficult to get in there and tap with anything.

I'm guessing the Lexus tips are somewhat similar as mine did not readily move last night when I had a look.

How much are these? I didn't realise you could buy them separately.

buying them is not the problem, getting them off is...

they cost 100 ish, from Lexus.

mine are worse for wear.

these are impossible to get but from Lexus, unless you want to import from the states and good luck with that route

Bit cheaper than the OEM ones quoted above but will they look :zee: or :yack:
