General Auto Transmission Question

Hey Everyone,

Only my second post here!, great forum!

I have a general question, do any of you use the 1 2 3 positions on the auto box very often? I use mine for engine braking when going down or up steep hills but do you ever use it for manual driving in general? like rather than using the kickdown if your about to overtake someone, just select it manually?

if you have time to plan an overtake it can be useful to pre-select the correct gear rather than having to wait for the kick down to occur. Other than that there isn't much point in moving it out of D, the transmission doesn't respond quickly to changes to the gear selector so it doesn't provide a very satisfying 'manual' experience.

I often knocked mine into 3rd for engine brake or going down steep hill even 2nd if very steep. Feel much more in control if im engine braking too. Didnt use it to kick back much for over taking i found ECT PWR button took care of those needs
