Hard Of Hearing?

Hi,

Is it me or is the IS300h a bit hard of hearing, after 4 weeks of ownership I have not once got it to dial the correct phone number using voice control, I regularly use a Fiat Punto with "blue & me" and that works every time. I have tried speaking slowly, clearly and aiming my mouth directly at the interior light (I guess that's where the MIC is) and it still either comes up with the wrong number or frustratingly says "pardon" and then shuts down before I can repeat my command. Otherwise the car is excellent just needs to be more obedient !!

It's not you. It is horribly temperamental and buggy, like other aspects of the 'infotainment' system.

I'd suggest you first check the software version that is installed - Menu/Setup/General......

Needs to be on at least version V3102E or above. If on V3101D or less, get the dealer to update it - should be free and takes about 15mins.

Next check if it requires a more forceful tone! Mine needs a good yelling at in a raised tone, speaking in a normal tone doesn't do it! I've been back to the dealer about it but they say there is nothing they can do until the next software release comes out. I think there is either a problem with the microphone or headunit, as if the microphone gain is too low.

Not much has changed then the system in my 2IS is dreadful, I haven't found a single command it can understand!
