Hello All,

My wife kindly wrote-off my LS430 recently and we have replaced with a 55k IS250 SE-L 2006 in Black. I drove the car last night and its lovely, just a bit smaller than I am used too..

The only thing is my interior lighting is shockingly bad! I find it difficult at night as there isn't very much interior lighting bathing the dashboard and switch-gear.... Help! Once the door is opened the lighting is better but not still perfect.

Any ideas??? Or interior kits??

We are based in Chislehurst, Kent and I also need to find someone that can detail the bodywork. The car is non metallic black and the front end has a lot of stone chips and I would like someone (cheap) to help remove the chips nicely. Any ideas??

Thanks chaps as always....

Dominic

Thanks for that help. Still very dim in the cabin though and the setting is on the highest possible. Let me have the number or link for the mobile people you recommended as i could see it in your post.

Cheers

You can replace all the interior (overhead) bulbs with LEDs - kits available on eBay. That makes it much nicer. Don't think there is much you can do about the switchgear and instrument lighting, but I find it well adequate - in fact I usually turn it down quite a way out of town. Irritating that there appears to be no instrument light in the dimmer switch!

(BTW - to replace overhead bulbs, get a set of plastic trim removal levers - avoids damage to plastic parts - easily marked with other tools and they are mostly very tight with tiny clearances to lever into)

Here you go...this is what I bought full set and really easy to change. You will be pleased with the result :)

As for the detailing well all I can say they are not cheap...it all depends on what you are looking for. You can go to the detailing part of this forum and see my review of Turtle Wax Black Box. Although it won't take away the stone chips completely you will be very happy with the result and its really easy to apply...just make sure you have gloves..full kit will cost £25 from Halfords and then 2-3 hours of sweat.

You can google SMARTREPAIR to see if you have any technicians near you as they are good at taking away stone ships.
