Thanks for the reply guys, very much appreciated.
Ok with regards to the Mazda, well I was after a sporty looking 4 door as the Mrs will be driving it most of the time. My first choice would have been the S2000 funnily enough, but as it’s a 2 door that was out the question. If it was just for me I would have gone for an EVO no question.
I saw the topgear review on the RX8 and the Stig posted the same time around the track as he did with the M3 and the 350Z which was impressive. The official 0-62 time of 6.4sec which should keep me happy ;) I’m not too fussed about the torque as I’ve grown up on Honda’s and used to the torque engine characteristics and power delivery, but hey everyone has different needs & wants and I think the 8 ticks most of my boxes. Plus I will have completed the 270BHP daily driver turbo conversion on my CRX very soon so that will keep me busy ;)
I’m not too worried about the mpg, I’ve done a bit of research and know about that and the oil consumption, it’s mainly going to be a weekend car, so it will hardly be driven that much.
Yeah I guess you are correct about the mods not adding value, especially on trade-in so I might swap the back.
The dealer offered me £15K on my IS and £1,200 off the book price of the RX8, I know I can get a bit more, so looks like my best and most convenient option would be to trade it in. I’m a realist so I kinda expected a big hit on the resale value, £4K in 1 year! But still surprised to se a similar spec IS200 at Lexus Woodford being advertised for £19K!!
The servicing cost is cheaper, but yes the daily running costs i.e. petrol & oil is higher, but as I’ve said it’s a w/e car so should be ok.
