  1. WTF!! If that's the APR they are offering then I would shop around, unless you have adverse credit or have no history of credit. High street banks are offering 6.9% all day long, some even cheaper. If you can get a better rate from a bank on a personal loan then I would go with that and try get a better deal on the car. You would expect a loan secured on the car, they could offer a better rate than a high street bank, which is unsecured.
  2. Depending on the interest and depreciation and also the trade in value they offer after 2 year. If the interest was 0% for example your initial deposit of £5000 + (302x24) [24 monthly payments of £302], you would have paid a total of £12,248 off the car. You could use the value after interest and depreciation towards a deposit on a trade in.
  3. I haveto say with that kit it does look a bit like the RX7, the standard MX5's suffer from a weak chin IMHO LOL
  4. Yes I was asked to take them off and get an MOT place to verify that the legal plates were back on. Was going to put them back on but never got round to it. So yes they are illegal, but most people get away with a warning, some get an on the spot fine of £30. I gues if you're very unluck and get pulled by the same copper twice, then heads may roll LOL
  5. Welcome to the club, black is defo the best choice IMHO We need some pics though!!
  6. Didn't fancy trying to learn drifting in the IS :winky: So picked this up last w/e.... Although with 9" wide wheels on the back, may cost me a few pennies in rubber!!
  7. If you're after a cheaper option have a look at these.. These are 17" Lenso Stage I.... http://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/4x_17_In..._Wheels_Wit.php
  8. Yeah should be around £170 - £200. Check out the place on Romford rd just past Stratford.
  9. I need to get in touch with him, but he has not logged on since July. You can PM if you prefer. Thanks in advance, Ash
  10. How about these... Ultralite WP-766-BATTLE Ultralite WP-755-NURBURGRING Zenetti Blade Black With Chrome Lip Zenetti Flow Black with Chrome Lip That should keep you busy for a while ;) Ash Or some cheap and cheerful Lenso Stage I ..... Ash
  11. I would be interested to know this as well. Ash
  12. Nope When I got a courtesy car from Lexus it was the IS250 :P BTW I have full leather on my 05 SE :D Ash
  13. Yeah lol that's what I ment, thought I recognised the road ;) I was watching out for a CRX :D Ash
  14. Was that Heath Road by any chance? Nice setup mate! ;) Ash
  15. I was there last month and hopefully again in August, so count me in chaps! Ash
  16. Cheers buddy! Give me a miss call when you're free. Thanks, Ash
  17. If you include the £1,200 off the RX8 as well then it's a total of £16,200 ;) Yeah might have to sort something out I think!!
  18. Thanks for the reply guys, very much appreciated. Ok with regards to the Mazda, well I was after a sporty looking 4 door as the Mrs will be driving it most of the time. My first choice would have been the S2000 funnily enough, but as it’s a 2 door that was out the question. If it was just for me I would have gone for an EVO no question. I saw the topgear review on the RX8 and the Stig posted the same time around the track as he did with the M3 and the 350Z which was impressive. The official 0-62 time of 6.4sec which should keep me happy ;) I’m not too fussed about the torque as I’ve grown up on Honda’s and used to the torque engine characteristics and power delivery, but hey everyone has different needs & wants and I think the 8 ticks most of my boxes. Plus I will have completed the 270BHP daily driver turbo conversion on my CRX very soon so that will keep me busy ;) I’m not too worried about the mpg, I’ve done a bit of research and know about that and the oil consumption, it’s mainly going to be a weekend car, so it will hardly be driven that much. Yeah I guess you are correct about the mods not adding value, especially on trade-in so I might swap the back. The dealer offered me £15K on my IS and £1,200 off the book price of the RX8, I know I can get a bit more, so looks like my best and most convenient option would be to trade it in. I’m a realist so I kinda expected a big hit on the resale value, £4K in 1 year! But still surprised to se a similar spec IS200 at Lexus Woodford being advertised for £19K!! The servicing cost is cheaper, but yes the daily running costs i.e. petrol & oil is higher, but as I’ve said it’s a w/e car so should be ok.
  19. So anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Ash
  20. Yup I'm after the 230 model (231ps) with full leather interior (red and black), electric & heated front seats, satnav, so not that much different from my IS really, apart from a bit more umph! Ash
  21. Not exactly dude, I’m looking to go over to the very, very dark side…… Have a test drive booked for Sat, I know for sure I will get a crap deal on a part-ex so looking to sell it privately. Ash
  22. Ok guys I might be selling my IS, not sure how much to advertise it for, could do with some help on pricing it. Here are the specs… Registered: June 2005 (05) IS200 SE Mileage: 11,500 Options: Satnav, rear parking sensors, (full leather ~ not sure if that came as standard), TRD lip kit. Mods: Prolex coilover (height & dampening adjustable, with no knocking), LED rear lights, TRD front grill, Lenso Stage I 17x7 with new tyres, blue LED reverse bulbs, Prolex aux-in kit. It’s in immaculate condition, hand car washed at least once a week. Here are a couple of pics… What do you guys reckon I should be asking for it? It’s just had it’s first service and I’m the first owner from new. I will move it to the for sale section once I have figured out a price. Thanks in advance, Ash
  23. I guess that makes me a chav then :duh: my little CRX has a 1.6litre engine nd has a bigger exhaust than my IS. How can you say anything under 2.0litre with a big exhaust is chavy!! Oh and my poxy small 4cyl car with a 1.6litre engine, pushes out over 10BHP more than the IS200 with a 2.0litre and V6 from factory ....and soon to get an even bigger exhaust when it will be pushing out more than 100BHP over the stock IS200. People just jump on the chav bandwagon because it's the in thing at the moment. If you don't like what other people do, then that's fine as you have a right to your opinion, but I find it offensive when people go on about chavs, ricers etc, I would go as far as calling it a form of racism. Anyway I'm off to the seaside as I think the sun has got to me :P Ash
