  1. Hi, 215/35x18 & 225/40x18 are two totally different sizes. As a replacement for 225/45x17 (front) you should go for 225/40x18 and 245/40x18 for rear. You can try this tool, even tough it is in french it is pretty handy : http://www.mtk.tm.fr/pneu_jante/jantes.php
  2. You will find usefull informations and 17 pages of aftermarket wheels here ==> http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201509
  3. What kind of discount can you expect to get in Great Britain? Back here in France, we can get between 7% and 11% (11% for a company car) from a Lexus dealer on a new IS250's.
  4. Here is Fabulous Web Site address, with prices in Yen's. :D http://www.fabulous.co.jp/products/luxurysedan/lexus_is350/
  5. I'm assuming its the 3 litre V6 out of the current GS300, although as others have said, aren't all the 300s being replaced by the 350 (RX was just replaced, and GS will be shortly from what I've heard) Unless they're going a bit BMW and introducing an extra engine to the range to have a 250, 300 and 350 (which would be irritating as we still only have the 250) Looks like this engine without direct injection has been designed specifically for the chinese market. Maybe it has something to do with the quality of petrol back there. But still would be delighted to get it in Europe. For now we only get the underpowered IS250 which is far too heavy for only 208 HP. IS300 or IS350 would be more adequate to compete with german luxury cars. http://www.clublexis.com/C07/eXcars.nsf/LeClub_2?openpage http://www.clublexis.com/C07/eXcars.nsf/89...35?OpenDocument
  6. Still, for Japanese enthousiasts who loved their Altezza's and do not want to go for a Lexus, Toyota created the Mark X. Wish we had it over here. http://toyota.jp/markx/index.html
  7. Well it all depends what you are looking for, and what are the packages available in your country. But it will be easier to fit 18" wheels on a Luxury Pack (we call it Pack Executive over here) than to change escaine to leather seats on a sport package. So unless you hate wood dash boards, you may be better off with a Luxury. But still, that is only my own opinion. ;)
  8. I know about the performance enhancement of the 220d (should be around 220 HP and 0-60 mph in 7.5 sec which is even better than the second gen IS300) , but I have not heard anything regarding the 250. Could you tell us more about this? Here is the answer I got from TTE last week: We have a performance kit for the 177PS D4D models under development and try to introduce it within this year. Unfortunately we do not have any datas for you so far.
  9. Thanks for the pics, it's definitely much clearer this way. I own a black IS, and I sure do want to put a similar exhaust system on it. Actually it looks very similar to the one on Gen² IS. :winky:
  10. Thanks for your quick reply A.J, What about the sound of your exhaust, and is it much more expensive than going for a standard Megan racing or Kazama ?
  11. Hi A.J, Back here in France people on our Forum love your car, especially the double exhaust system. It looks awesome. Could you tell us a bit more on how you managed to install such a system on your IS. Wasn't it a bit short of space? Congrats,
  12. Thanks for the info 710, quite a number of our french and belgian club members are having the problem on 1999/2000 IS. That is a quite usefull address we will use right away. We'll keep you posted of any results.
  13. Hi, you'll find what you're looking for there: Color choice
  14. In France the IS250 comes in two flavours, Pack Executive (fully loaded, leather, wood, ML, Nav...) AND 17" wheels, Pack Sport (escaine setas , aluminium, ML, NAV,...) AND 18" wheels. Because I wanted leather seats, I had to go for the Pack executive. In order to add the 18 " wheels that the IS requires, there are two options: Lexus Pack Sport genuine parts 374 € each Or auto part suppliers. My choise went to Kosei RZ Seneica 1442 € for the pack of four. >> http://www.power-tuning.fr/fr/liaison_au_s.../p16500862.html Hopefully that's how it will look:
  15. As far as I can see here in France, there is no technical reason preventing the Sport to come with an auto version. Actually ALL IS250 Sport I've seen so far DO have an auto transmission. So far I've only seen ONE manual. (it was on a Pack/base version)
  16. I have a Mid 2003 IS200. Leaving in Paris, we have NO salt on roads, however, I had to get all four alloys replaced this year because they were heavily corroded . I am affraid that's not related twith the salt on roads, but more with the way they are manufactured.
  17. Until I read your post, I thought that the IS250 was far too expensive back here in France, but looks like it is even worse for you. LEXUS IS250 Pack EXECUTIVE (fully loaded) AUTO : € 46.600 MEDIA PACK & ML..................................................€ included Metalic..................................................................€ has always been included for all Lexus models However, I test drove it and was quite disappointed by the 2.5 V6 engine, other than that, it is a superb car.
  18. Looks to me like the 3.0 l 165 D4D Land Cruiser has slightly more torque (410 Nm) so has the Land Cruiser 4.2 l TD SW (430 Nm) and they both come with auto box. So the reason for not having an IS220d with an auto box must be somewhere else.
  19. I guess it would depend on how many km's you do in a year............if you do over 20.000 kms then wouldnt the Diesel work out better value? Also look at servicing costs. ← Rip Off Britain - just look at the diesel costs....25% less than Petrol! :tsktsk: Then consider that 1 eur = <70p! :tsktsk: Mind you the car appears to be cheaper here....how novel! But the diesel 220d is almost listed the same as the 250 V6.... Anyway, I'm going Monday to have my first snoop around the showroom. I don't want a test drive in the 250SE, I am waiting for the Diesel... ← In France, Lexus has now published Is prices: IS250 Pack Luxe = 37.200 € IS250 Pack Sport (including Nav & M&L) = 43.500 € IS250 Pack Executive (including Nav & M&L) = 44.800 € IS220D should be 1000 € less than the IS250 and should have an IS220D Pack entry model at 31.000 €
  20. The public prices for the IS 250 have now been announced in France, according to me, they are far too high when compared both to the IS300 and to the german competition. A 204 hp Pack executive auto IS250 is 46.600 €! At that level of price, you are entitled to expect much more power, such as what you'd get from the Audi's, BMW and Mercedes. That's to high, end of the story.
  21. Anyone know what the fuel consumption will be like for the 250 and what ins group are IS...mines a 14 at the moment. 0-60 in 7.2 s is pretty quick for the 250...wonder how quick the the Is220d will be? Being a 4 pot i guess it will be less refined than the V6 diesels in the c320cdi. ← The IS250 should be able to reach 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.4 secs (pretty close from IS300), while the IS220D which shares the Avensis diesel engine, will need 8.6 secs.
  22. I get the same behaviour, during very hot days, with A/C on and temperature set to 18, when I start the engine, it sets automatically to 'recirculate', I guess that's the way it is supposed to operate in order to prevent hot air to get into the car.
