  1. because to fit supra brakes requires modifications. to fit much larger LS400 aluminum 4 pot calipers requires the same amount of modification, but more braking effort can be applied for the same brake imput given :) ← UH?? What modifications need doing? The supra UK discs and calipers bolt straight onto the GS. Is the IS and LS different to the GS brakewise then? Will these LS ali brakes go straight onto the GS? If so what do they cost for a set of calipers, rotors and pads?
  2. I'll tie this in with taking my daughter to see her Irish family. We'll go there for the week before and come over for the ferry back. How much was that hotel and how do we go about booking a family room? OK I've stopped bein lazy and read the rest of the thread. So as far as I can gather it will cost me circa £225 dependent on the exchange rate my card gives me for me the better half and me 4-5 month old sproglet for 2 nights with bed brekfast and evening meal. The car should go on the ramps but unless I've had it lifted I seriously doubt it as you can't even get three fingers under the front and sides of mine, I'll have to take the bumper off to load it and unload it. Sounds good that the lexus guys in Ireland are interested in fixing something up. Hope I don't bring too gangsta an image to the occasion :)
  3. Cross my palms with silver and its yours :)
  4. I've had the ABS on several of my cars down my mates lane which is very slippery and down hill so its very easy to lock up the wheels if there's no abs at very low speeds certainly below 20 mph.
  5. The seat is sort of spare (a mate said he wants it for his landrover for offroading but it doesn't match the supra seats I gave him from my old MK4 so he's not sure). Its a bit tatty so will need re-covering. The subframe is all good though.
  6. Gah have to take the door cards off as well :(
  7. Well it has been set up as a drift motor so it would be rude not to. Adjustable 2 way LSD, manual six speed box with triple plate clutch (I think). Did have a crap bride bucket seat in it as well to stop you falling out your seat. I have a feeling that drifting a bit might be enjoyable if I can afford 2 sets of wheels with tyres on.
  8. Might be getting a unit as part of the deal for selling my supra. Best place to get prices for RLTC is probably the supra or skyline boards. Nic is a guy in hong kong gets that sort of stuff very cheap.
  9. Whats wrong with banging UK spec supra brakes on?? Thats what is going on my aristo.
  10. I think that the stock amp has been replaced with an aftermarket one and then that removed. There is an aftermarket amp power wire in the boot but when I followed it forwards the knob had just cut it off at the engine bulkhead rather than just insulate the terminal in the boot :( If the stock door speaker wires are in the boot will that mean that I have to run a pre-out to an aftermarket amp in the boot and run all the speakers from there and not direct from the head unit? Also there is a large speaker type grille on the dashboard top is that a speaker as well?
  11. How uber cool. Its my bigest bug bear with the supra you either get heated mirrors or folding but not both :)
  12. Nothing there now just a dodgy wooden shelf :(
  13. I have what looks like a 10" sub in the boot that is fitted in and around the pollen filter on what is effectively the rear parcel shelf. Is that a stock item? There is no amplifier to be seen anywhere though. Also all my stereo speaker wires seem to terminate in the boot is that right?
  14. I have two wing mirror buttons side by side on the dash. One folds the mirrors in the other just makes funny noises outside. What does the second button do?
  15. Took the new motor to a bit of private carpark tonight to see how it handled. Well it only just goes on and off the drive so I guess I really need to raise the suspension but I think I can afford an inch or 2. The pickup and drive of a manual 6 speed is sooooo different to the auto. I know that the aristo is 200kg heavier and at least 70 if not 90 BHP down on my supe but in and around town it feels so much quicker and more controllable. On the power it power slides from a standstill in an incredibly controllable manner. As for donuts FFS it whips straight into them again from a standstill. You can swap it from donutting one way round to the other way round by dropping the clutch in and quickly flipping the steering wheel round. Its just awesome. OK OK I know that this kind of behaviour is frowned upon and in fact in public I myself frown upon it but it does display a cars handling abilities and this cars past drifting setup is so evident. I think I am going to have a great time track daying this motor. I may even have to show some of my old supra buddies a thing or two whilst I am at it next year :) an OK OK I know its a bit cowboyish and boisterish for this forum but YYEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH the rodeo lexus has arrived :)
  16. Not nessa celery. The aristo is also made in japan in 3.0 N/A and 4.3 N/A and by the looks of the list on the auction board its also made in a 4wd (i think thats the 4.3 version is 4wd) The 2jz-gte engine was not however put into the GS over here. I think this is to do with the same legislation they had to stop selling the supra in the UK because of.
  17. Is the box the same as the supe one? I'm not sure it is and hence may not be as powerfull. The supe box is OK to 600 but rebuild with better components is advisable afaik
  18. My supes stock tubbies are pushing out 450+ bhp no owrries at 1.2 bar of boost. I'd like to see similar power from my aristo when I get the cats out of it and some decent cams and the likes into it. You should manage about 1.5 bar of boost reliably on decent hybrids but I guess manifolds and waste gates may become a bit restrictive so perhaps 1.35-1.4 bar would be a more realistic aim point for hybrids. Just to get it above 1.0 bar you'll need a better fuel pump, fuel cut defencer and probably an FSE. If you go hybrids you'll almost certainly need bigger injectors (you'd get away with 550ccs) Also if you put in bigger injectors you'll need to control them so greddy or safc2 fuel pc will be needed, decent high lift cams again you'll get away with UK spec supra cams. I'm sure if you snoop around in the states you'll find a decent big twin kit somewhere.
  19. Um I would say that your ABS isn't working or it doesn't have ABS, cars do not skid at all with ABS.
  20. Sorted it myself by doing my first mod to the car. I added another 4 gang fuse box so I have room to put my stereo kit into a pucker fusebox :)
  21. Get ready for it chaps my manual beast has landed. I've spent all weekend swapping over the seats for new better condition leather and ripping out all the dodgy jap wiring and fitting a short shifter kit and sorting out partially the mess that was the centre console and handrake. Not much more work and she will be ready to go on show :) PS I've been to that Milton Keynes track fabulous and bloomin fast cart track that is. Ya had good days weather for it :)
  22. Don't worry about it chaps the entire ABS system has been ripped out along with the entire traction control system :( RLTC is now my only way ahead, ABS I'm not sure how to sort out apart from a full retro fit :(
  23. Its in the footwell and mine is a stock aristo one by the looks of it. Surprised me as I expected it to be a supra manual one.
  24. Anyone help me out with a number for the power seat fuse? Its the 30 amp affair in the drivers footwell but typically its an odd looking pink housing jobber not like the standard 30 amp fuse. Total pita as when i was fitting my UK seat to my aristo I managed to short the power lead to earth as I modified the plug. Anyways a number would be usefull also do I go to toyota with the number or the lexus dealer?
