  1. There is a big single aristo at DJCraigs http://www.djcraig.co.uk/GetDealer.do?did=20701&pageid=1
  2. Well I know which one its not. Its not the same one as the supra is as I just tried that. I got the delimiter working as the needle went all the way off the clock and got stuck on max travel. The FCD works as well as its boosting like a nutter. I have come across one problem though. Since I disconnected the ECU the car won't idle properly. It idles way too low and cuts out which is a real PITA.
  3. Dude thats V nice. Have you just had that imported? I ask because I saw what I think is the same motor come up when I was looking for mine. Those rims are very distinctive and I'm sure those wheels were on that car. Spec is very similar as well. Those wheels are very merc like. I saw a set of those on a supra and wanted them for mine but could never find any anywhere that weren't cheap tacky looky likes. Smart expensive lookig wheels that are so much easier to clean than the multi spoked affairs I have, also you don't have to worry about how the dodgy way too small lookin brakes look :) RE the exhaust at least you have back boxs :) Mine is just 2 way straight through pipes that split into four way exits. Its probably a bespoke piece of kit as I reckon mine is. The BOV noise is something you'll get used to and grow out of NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heh heh :D
  4. Oh ho have you succumbed to the comfort side dude?
  5. Anyone know what colour the wire is that carries the speedo signal into the speedo is?
  6. The mk1 non-vvti engine is a lot cheaper and as its stands easier to mod engine of the two. Most tuning parts will be cross compatable but from what i can tell clearance issues around the suspension towers will be one area that could cause you problems with turbo fitments. As for power if you don't want huge power ie over 400 at the wheels then the stock turbo's will suffice. My supra (I know I know I harp on about it lol) is pushing at least 370 bhp at the wheels with 1.2 bar of boost. Stock tubbies, walbro fuel pump, stock injectors, front mount intercooler, water injection, hks 264 inlet and exhaust cams, FCD, FSE, boost controller, full decat and sports exhaust. A set of hybrids (stock tubby housing with uprated twin impellors) will sort you for 1.5 bar of boost, couple them with 550 injectors and you could push up to 410 at the wheels. Above that you are looking at single or if you can get it big twins. Have a look at the supraforums for an indication of what can be done.
  7. If it didn't cost circa 2 grand I'd get it done on mine and keep it and use the car as my work motor. Unfortunately I maxed out my budget buying the car :(
  8. Cars self test every time you switch the ignition on. If it finds a fault on the airbag line ie airbag missing when steering wheel has been removed or the display light unit has been removed it hard latches the light on. You are meant to need to go to a proper garage to reset it but if you know the way to reset it ECU diagnostic port ab tc to earth alternating on the supra you can reset it yourself. At least £30 saved.
  9. the company is M S engineering, 5 graylins, bedford, mk 41 9bh phone 01234 772255 ask for mike
  10. If you do huge miles and there is a possibility of getting fuel cheaper what sort of idiot would not investigate its feasability? Just because I drive a TT motor (which I'll add is actually more economical than the N/A version) doesn't mean I forfeit my right to have access to cheaper fuel. I'm having to sit day in day out in a sh*tter of a diesel to get to work and back whilst my Aristo sits on the drive. If a high quality LPG kit allowed me to drive my aristo to work then I'd see that as a positive thing.
  11. Belt change shouldn't cost you that much as my similar engined supe had brake pads full oils service and cambelt done for £300 when I had that.
  12. I'm tight for cash at the mo but I will book. Do we have to pay the full cost or is a deposit ok?
  13. In the face of idiots that bid more for stuff than you can get it new for I snipe as it hacks me off the amount of morons that push the price of stuff up way beyond what is reasonable for it.
  14. Somebody on here or tif mentioned having a car with a high powered LPG kit fitted.
  15. A guy on the mk4supra forum peter richards sourced a company that did replacement adjustable dampers for boots on the supra I can ask him for the details see if they can do similar for the aristo. Loose front subframe bolts are responsible for knocking on the supra might be worth checking out.
  16. I'll see what I can find in the aristo market. The miles on aristo's are a lot more attractive than the miles on say a BMW M5 of a similar age. If I had of realised that the manual box would be such an issue for my other half I wouldn't have bothered with the hassle of this car and would have bought the blue auto one I saw at the same time as I saw this one. I'm well hacked off as I reckon finding a car in matching mettalic colour (not silver) with a nice kit on it and nice alloys and leather will be a bit of a long wait. Whereas a neat looking blue mettalic M5 is very much easier to find.
  17. If its at a traders he can easily swap out the battery with another car to see if its that.
  18. I can't put anything other than optimax or quivalent in my supra as it detonates. Even with sainsburies SUL. The aristo runs fine on sainsburies stuff. I can feel a bit of difference with 99 RON but nothing to write home about.
  19. Could be an iffy earth. I'm sure there is a thread in the aristo bit about the earths around the ABS and power steering causing problems.
  20. The engine parts that you need for the aristo will be readily available over on the MK4 supra forum as its the same engine. The MPG on the TT is often actually better than the NA engine. Power wise the difference below 40-50 isn't that much in realtime driving as I managed to stay with the TT supes in my NA easily enough. I'm not sure what 0-60 in the aristo is meant to be but the supra TT is 5.1 seconds. Add a bit for a heavier car say .4 or .5 seconds and you won't be far off. If you are considering a little modification then the Aristo is your best bet. 400 BHP is a very achievable output with an exhaust some electronic trickery and an aftermarket intercooler. If you want stupid power and have a bit of cash knocking about the depth of your wallet is your limit. There are cars stateside and in Japan running well over a thousand BHP with off the shelf parts.
  21. Goodyear eagle F1's are in my humble opinion the best all round performers and usually cheaper than the potenzas. Tread pattern, sidewall ridgity and compound density will be different between the two types. Reviews and price guides can be found here http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/bridgestone
  22. Its actually mettalic green so the pictures obviously don't reflect that. so theres a point thats been picked up straight away thanks. The pics from Japan are OK I just didn't want to use a picture I hadn't taken myself. I will be getting the carpets proffesionally cleaned after the alarm goes in at the weekend and then giving it a proper wash and polish so at that point I will get some decent pictures and do a walk around with a video camera. If I'm honest I've stuck it on ebay as is to gauge interest. I'll put more effort into selling it when I've serviced it, cleaned it up properly and had the gaitor trim done. Ebay is OK for getting interest but I think more traditional methods will be required to sell it.
  23. By the time the security and Defi's go in it the car will have cost me £11k to import so I would be looking to recoup that money. I've listed it on ebay to gauge interest what do you guys think? Is it worded OK or could it be listed better? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...46734%26fvi%3D1
  24. Where do ya reckon would be the best place to sell my beasty aristo? Reason being I only bought it to replace the supra and having driven it for a couple of months her indoors prefers the supras drive and handling and has said I can keep my supra. Daftly enough the main thing she doesn't like is the manual box.
  25. So if toyota had the 2JZ-GTE engine way back in 91 why keep flogging their flagship sportscar with the 1JZ and the other lumps they were using? No wonder nissan got the hop on them with the 300ZX if they werer holding back that engine. Thanks for that website. Its exactly what I have been after for a while.
