  1. Mine has 1 of them poxy HKS mushroom filters (for now) and the BOV is only audible when you really dump it big style and then only from inside the car. More boost you dump the louder the noise as well as I found out when I put the cats back in the supra for its MOT.
  2. Hmm strange one. There is more than 1 feed into the ECU telling it the speed which is why you can't delimit it by just disconnecting the speed input and why if that line does disconnect the ECU still knows how fast the car is going. How comes the GS has a speed input from the front wheels? The supra can't have as mine easily pushes its power out nice and smooth. 369.2 at the wheels. 327 isn't a bad figure from a 2JZ-GTE with just BPU upgrades. In fact thats more than good with just 1 bar of boost stock intercooler and stock fuel pump. Its the fuel pump limiting the power at the moment I would say. A walbro or something of that ilk is a lot safer than the stock JDM pump. I also have an FSE on mine to keep the fuel delivery safe.
  3. My car is pushing 474 bhp on 1.2 bar of boost on 440cc injectors. It only just starts to lean off at max power so its probably not fuel. I would look at the top speed limiter can you get the car above 120 on the private road.
  4. Well that really depends on if you want to hear that pttsshhhhttttttttt noise every time you lift off the gas :) :D I loved it in my supra. But to be fair as its running 474 bhp then it also has a practical effect. My aristo is probably around an about 400 but its bloomin noisy enough as it is without adding extra sound effects (exhaust makes my supe sound quiet)
  5. A J plate?? Umm the very first MK4 supras were late K's. Check the serial number on your motor mate I'm guessing the car got registered wrong. Its not unknown for cars to slip through the net the other way. For instance I saw a P reg TT aerotop for sale recently which is impossible as they stopped making them in 1995. A mate of mine regged his car on a private plate on an L reg even though it was manufactured on a 93. The new zealand supra site tells you the years that the supras were made serial number based. I am yet to find an equivalent site for aristos.
  6. OK devils advocate you have had the 112 mph limiter taken out yes??? You also have had an FCD fitted yes??? I say this as to hit peak power if you are around 1 bar at peak power the boost may go over 1 bar which means you will hit fuel cut. Its also well known on the supra board that at 112mph the speedo reads 120mph and if you havent had it delimited then thats whats happening. The graph will look like its going mental as the fuel gets cut in boths instances (boost fuel cut is heavier than top speed) and then resumes in both instances when either the boost has dropped below 1 bar or speed below 112 mph.
  7. What???? A manual???? What kind of man are you lol :) Anyone who's anyone throws the manual straight in the bin :D
  8. If they are the same brakes as the j-spec mk4 supra which I think they are then you can get porterfield pads from whiffibits on the mk4 forum or chris wilson has developed some damn good pads for semi track use also on the mk4supra board. If you feel a bit more adventurous then splash out on some upgraded 4 pot UK spec supra brakes that just about bolt straight on and play. Surprises me you say they are pants as the servo assist is far more powerfull on the aristo than on my supra might be worth having that checked out.
  9. They made these cars in 1990? With the 2jz-gte engine? No way. The supra didn't get this engine until 1993 and it was developed from the 1jz-gte engine from its predescessor and the soarer. Congrats on the MOT pass though fella.
  10. TRD anti roll bars on my supra are absolutely stunning. Completely revamps the handling charachteristics of the car. Brilliant buy if it has the same effect on the IS
  11. AFAI remember its just a little clip thing somewhere at the bottom of the plastic that the leather part is bonded to if that makes sense. Possibly on the rear face. Its only a dead little thing. A bit like what holds leccy plugs on a little ratchett like clip thingumy.
  12. You what?? How can you say that you can't tell the difference between one tyres performance and anothers? Drive yourself a 475 bhp rear wheel drive motor in the rain then come back and tell me there is no difference in tyre performance in the wet. I have found in my personal usage of tyres that goodyear eagle F1's perform the best in wet weather than any other tyre in its price range. I've used them on tracks and drive aggressively on empty roads and have 50kmiles a years worth of driving experience so I've got an idea of how tyres perform. Sure you can pay significantly more for tyres but I've found you get next to no aditional benefit. I also glean some corroboration from over 100 users of high power rear wheel drive car owners that also put a lot of miles down in rear wheel drive cars so its not just my own opinion. I have used stickier tyres in the dry and found the bridgestone potenzas to be the best grip for the money but just not as good in the wet as the eagles and as most people have to drive their cars in both wet and dry conditions then its pretty obvious the choice is going to have to be the tyre that performs best in the wet.
  13. Ah its an older version that I want that I was thinking of this one http://www.defi-shop.com/product/svsd/svsd_top.html
  14. I think these are no longer available to buy. A guy over on mk4supra forum has some in stock in hong kong still but they aren't gonna hang around for ever. I'm considering one as I can't afford to look down at my revcounter with my cars performance and jittery nature.
  15. best tyres I ever used were the bridgestone potenzas but they wore alot quicker, were more expensive, and weren't as good in the wet as the eagles.
  16. Your sig says you have an IS which I'm guessing is manual. Man here is talking about an auto GS. Or have I erred here a bit? No - I have obviously erred. I have a GS though I cant see in my profile where it says I have an IS. Regards Neil NO NO mate that was in response to morses post about the gearknob unscrewing on his car. IS are manual GS's are not. Your sig says GS on it but it wouldn't be the first time I got something wrong lol.
  17. Anybody? I've looked on the US and the australian boards to no avail. I have the supra one but I'm sure the ECU's are different.
  18. Is the wiring loom the same as the supra? IE if I ask on the supra forum will they be able to tell me wjich wires to use for FCD? The ECU wiring diagram I will still need.
  19. I need a wiring diagram for both the ECU and the speedo so I can delimit the car and convert the speedo to MPH on my mk1 aristo. Anyone have any ideas where I might find this information? I also need to fit an FCD as I get fuel cut at the moment.
  20. I'm having a clifford avantguard fitted next week.
  21. Mine does! Your sig says you have an IS which I'm guessing is manual. Man here is talking about an auto GS. Or have I erred here a bit? It wasn't a screw if I remember rightly it was a sort of clip thing like you get on electrical plugs. Was a few months ago that I did it now and as mine is a manual motor I can't go and check for you.
