  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-2JZGTTE...1QQcmdZViewItem Everything you need for a conversion to VVTi TT. Very nice price considering it includes the turbos and the tranny. You'd only get the bare engine for that over here.
  2. Wonder if this works on the aristo? If so then I am in the market for a new key with the sender unit on it as mine is just a standard key without the remote locking on it. Best place to get a new key? lexus?
  3. Yeah I guess a standard key can be purchased from lexus no bothers. Its the one with the remote sender buttons I want. Someone on the aristo forum asked at lexus for a replacement and was advised to ask here on the LOC where to get one from :D
  4. Where do you get a replacement key from?? The only key that came with mine doesn't have the remote central locking buttons.
  5. Funny my car has HIDs bodged in a bit and when I collected the car I got flashed repeatedly by both oncoming cars and ones I overtook on the motorway. I had to get the lights adjusted quite a way down as it is obviously annoying people. This acura kit, what is involved?
  6. I have the stock amp out of the car and there isn't a clue on it I'm afraid.
  7. Does anyone have a pin in/out detail for the Mark 1's stock amp? I'd like to use the stock amp to power the stock sub from an aftermarket stereo but need to know the various pins in and out.
  8. Ah I noticed that you have a mk2 and I have a mk 1 which only has 2 rows of fuses :(
  9. Many thanks old bean. Now what is the SRC-ACC ?
  10. Can some kind individual take a picture of the inside of the fusebox lid from the drivers footwell please. I'm popping fuses fitting the stereo and I need to know which ones I am popping and the lid is missing. If anyone has a part number or a spare cover knocking about I'd appreciatte that as well.
  11. After my Mrs showed a 911 its rude to flash at her (by anihalating it with a full load) I'd say look at a singled up aristo. If the luxo barge doesnt appeal look at 6 speed single supras. Theres a few about now and in the £10k bracket
  12. Rims need to be black if you are gonna do that colour. Black interior would help too.
  13. No not another 1 as such just the one that michel had. The single turbo one. So theres no more in the club than there was before I'm afraid.
  14. Yeah go-carting can be a bit of a leveler. Problem is they can vary wildly (the rented ones) and how fat a bar steward you are really effects your power to weight ratio on small carts. Usually I am not the fastest, but maybe in the top third.
  15. Yeah That. If I hadn't bought this aristo it was audi S6 estate time for me and let the tuning begin :D The RS4's are begining to get affordable but I've always thought the most affordable of a car is best steering clear of as it will prove more expensive in the long run. Also I agree with your main point and sort of said the same myself, when you get into these power bands its all down to how good the driver is, the stig in a bmw 335 would hand me my ***** on a platter even if I had a sodding ferrari :D Its mostly to do with confidence, which itself stems from ability that is practiced. I wasn't trying to be cocky either I genuinely would like to see the results of an overpowered luxo barge like mine pitched against a Z4M roadster on a track. There is a 355 berlinetta at Donington on the day I go so hey I'll get a bit of an idea there.
  16. If you don't get an answer by next week PM me I'll whip mine out and have a looksee. I would say now but its been a while and I might forget something. I'd do it now but I haven't collected the car yet.
  17. OK how savvy are you with technical stuff? http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/techo.htm#ENGINE_CODES may be a help to diagnose the actual problem or point you in the right direction without having to take it to the dealer. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/trac_off_mil_odo/index.html may be relevent from the actual problem side not the how to do it as obviously the cars bits are in different places/shapes. The airbag thing is there because at some point its been disconnected and the light not reset. It latches permanently on when this happens. Switching it off is a £40 job at lexus or follow these instructions (its the same engine as the supra) http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/airbag_light/airbag.htm I'll see what else I can find.
  18. Brakes do bind on these cars the rears especially so AFAIK. Try jacking the front wheel off the floor and try spinning the wheel round one at a time. Theres no harm in doing the back as well whilst you are at it. Light pad rubbing on the disc could sound like a hissing noise.
  19. I have a V8 range rover trust me the love effect soon wears off :D By about your 10th petrol station :P To be honest the non-dealer support for imports such as skylines, supras, and the aristo, is actually better than some of the lexus dealers around, and in most cases the service is usually considerably cheaper. The RAC don't need to know what car it is as it won't ever break down :). You'll find most insurers have picked up the pace and will from some specialist companies quote you happy. The parts for the car body are the same as its lexus bretheren and the engine parts are mk4 supra parts. Admittedly some of the crossover bits like bulbs and engine to car connection will be different but you'd be looking at a far newer car in a mk2 than the mk1's that most own on the forum so probability of any of these parts going wrong is minimal and if its a regular part to go wrong someone on here will know how to sort it out.
  20. Welcome welcome to a rather small club. Theres not many of them there Mk2 aristo's about chap.
  21. You know what I am right up for that old boy :D Lets see if 1.6 bar of 600 horses strapped onto a luxo barge really is fast enough to keep a pure breed sport car at bay :D I am off to donington on the 27th of feb to see how the car fairs at 1.2 bar (car is running a jap map on a hks fcon at the mo so I wont take it above that power which is circa 500 ish I think). Personally I think its the brakes will need money spending before the engine needs more power. When the brakes are sorted perhaps the suspension will need a little work to carry the engines power around corners. I could just ascribe to an old muckers way of thinking-----Make the car so fast in a straight line that I have enough time to get out and push it round each corner and still win :D :D
  22. peter richards on the mk4 supra net forum sourced a supply of aftermarket gas struts at a very reasonable price. Drop him a PM I'm sure he'd share the info with you.
