  1. not used it myself Bob - but have heard very good things.
  2. in my opinion - no. use avast as your anti virus software. much smaller foot print.
  3. RA2 is the same. I suspect the falut lies not with the units - but with the drivers for being there in the first place
  4. Bob - I put some excellent, and free, products in this thread
  5. just dont leave it to haze. apply it very thin - wipe off immediately and buff well.
  6. its a Road Angel 2. I like it fine - works well. not many false positives at all. useless as a chocolate teapot if you drive a lot in London though, between cameras, schools and congestion charging zones its just a constant noise.
  7. lots of information about Klasse products in the Lexus Car Care Centre for people who are not familiar with the range
  8. no - wipe it right off. you wont actually remove the product - just leave a very thin layer (think about it - it only needs to be one molecule thick to bond to the paintwork). apply, wipe off - leave till next weekend. gentle wash, apply - wipe off. dead easy
  9. when you clean it once a week - spend an extra 45 minutes putting on a layer on SG. apply it nice and thin - the merest whisper of a suggestion of product, and polish it off. leave for a week to cure. repeat. you'll see a difference in two weeks - and will thank us after a month. just 1 - do a bloody good clean first - clay, polish etc. 2 - dont wax until you are happy you dont want to apply any more glaze 3 - dont polish - as this will take you back to stage 1. A simple, gentle wash and dry is all that is needed I love it - gives a beautiful depth of shine
  10. Good lord, are you serious? Either your motor now weighs 5 tons, or it is so aerodynamically slippery wind just does not get a purchase? Seriously though, i assume you wash the car before every sealant application with a gentle shampoo? And what happens if you get a scratch, do you have to build it up again? I would never have the patience to do all that........ :duh: ← pretty good idea. not only will it look awesome B) - but it will be protected from airborne crap like acid rain, bird droppings etc - its an excellent sacrificial layer that protects the underlying paintwork. not to mention - subsequent cleaning is very easy, and brings back a beautiful shine from a simple wash and dry. getting a scratch would be a pain, as polishing / compounding it out would remove the glaze.
  11. Mike - please. we treat each other with a bit more respect than that - you know this mate. attack the argument - not the person.
  12. :D "90% in run down city areas are criminals" - I could go along with. This is equally true of the BMW, Merc, Audi etc drivers in the same areas though. If you live in a run down council estate and drive a <luxury car marque> its probably due to illicit means - drug dealing or benefit fraud would be favourite. But how many people is this? It may be a high percentage - but its a high percentage of a small set. "40% in city areas" - you reckon? sounds an awful lot to me. I have no figures to back my opinion up - and would guess you dont either ( ), but I would say the same would hold true as above - you could say the same about BMW, Merc etc. Criminals like to spend their ill gotten gains same as we like to spend our hard earned - on nice cars. Not saying no criminals own Lexus - but in my experience, Lexus owners have not lived up to Clarksons stereotype
  13. print off the parkers page in full colour, with the logo on the top etc. go in @ £12.7 - see what happens. I wouldnt say try for 3k off with no backup - but parkers are a pretty well recognised authority. if they wont go that low - start building up extras, mats, reversing sensors, road tax, full tank of fuel, gap insurance. leave your number - tell them you are paying cash, and walk away. wait for them to ring :winky:
  14. how much??? hes trying it on mate parkers says whatcar says more (so dont print that one out, and dont take it with you ;) ) check the insurance costs too mate - its a group 19, could take you by surprise
  15. the "rappers have less talent than clarkson" cave :P only joking mate how many rappers drive a Lexus in the UK? what is the ratio of "yardy" lexus owners as a percentage of the total? Thats a bit like saying you know a lesbian who drives a golf - so ALL golf drivers are lesbians.
  16. he does - and he's quite entertaining. I enjoy top gear. But that article was the first time I had read any of his written "journalism" - and it was just drivel. How does he make a living from churning that out (apart from paid by the word)?
  17. almost a pity to put that in the engine bay!
  18. pretty certain I am gonna get them to change it anyway - if I recall correctly, it should only cost £50, and not affect my NCB (which is protected anyway). they better had get it out all in one piece - I drive in my bare feet, no way can I have glass in the car.
  19. been hit before mate - got a nice deep one a few years ago in roadworks on the M11. never made anything like the noise this did!
  20. Was coming back from Oldham, after a visit to Drury Lane for a geometery check (topic for another thread! :D ), cruising on the M56 - about 75 - 80. There were no road works or such, and I had a good safe distance between me and the car in front. Was an almighty crack - scared me ****less ( ). Looked around in the mirrors, checked for warning lights - then noticed the huge cracks in my windscreen. I had gone under a bridge - checked my rear view mirror, butby the time I could see the bridge, it was a bit too far away to tell if there was anyone on there. some pics. closeup from inside from a distance what a beauty eh? :tsktsk: :tsktsk: Went to Lexus Chester - who said they would be happy to arrange for the RAC to see to it for me - but I was quite capable of doing that myself. Spoke to the windscreen repair guy today - they will be out tomorrow. I have asked them to order a new one - no way thats gonna be repairable is there? Was a real scare at the time - the noise was immense, I actualy thought I had been shot at for a few seconds.
  21. I didn't see them lit up anywhere? looking at the white one - I take it the gears are shown down the middle then?
  22. Mike, to use your eyelids picture as an example. The URL shown at the top of the screen is http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=si&img=1243 that is not a valid image file - as it is the URL to the webpage that CONTAINS the image (as well as a bunch of other ones). You are probably entering this address, as the url parameter &img=XXXX will be making the forum software think you are entering a dynamic image URL. The URL of the actual image is http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/uploads/1115310009/gallery_8450_122_37813.jpg you can tell this is the true image, as it has a .jpg file extension. To get the correct image url, use one of the following methods. Internet Explorer Right click the image and select Properties Triple click the Address (URL) line - this should select the entire URL. Hit Ctrl-C to copy Firefox Right click the image and select Copy Image Location Both methods will copy the image URL to the clipboard, where you can then past it into your post. that help mate?
