Mine is rubbish in snow and ice. The Snow ETC button does nothing much but light up the dash with a "snow" light, which helps remember that I am on snow Got stuck so many times it's embarrassing. Went to turn car around on snow melted street and got stuck straight across the street mid turn. Took ages just to get it back into original spot and then go out in Toyota Estima instead. Haven't found a way to make the blighter stick to the road. Have a bag of sand/salt and some sticks of wood in boot in case I get stuck again. Took two hours to get it out of a car park before Xmas.

Lexus Is250

I shifted from manual SE MM, to Auto SR. I would highly recommend auto every time now...such a smooth drive, and the old manual was clunky. -
Is250 Rattles

MY latest Lexus has the odd occasional big crack sound near the windscreen. Does sound like a boulder hitting the screen !! My past experience of having dash noises fixed by Lexus dealer will probably mean I won't bother with this random one off noise, that only occurs on average once per long journey when heating up. -

My 55 plate 250-SE MM rattled from new (centre dash) was fixed under warranty, but they damaged the dash in process. So rattles and fixes to them make me sweat. Was worried if rattle came back that I'd have to entrust the car to the dealership again, but it never returned thankfully. My 58 plate 250 Sport has had no rattles to date. -
Just had the entry problem myself today. Arrived at a customers building, parked up in their car park and got out, pressed door handle button to lock the car, and no joy. Got out the key fob and pressed the lock button, still no joy. 5 minute before my meeting starts and I am fumbling around in the rain trying to prize off the door lock cover. Locked the car with the mechanical key, and then pressed the keyfob and the door opened and closed ok. Seems that using the mechanical lock overcame the problem. Also tried to start the engine whilst the door wastn't locking and the dash reported not being able to find key. Placed key next to Start button and it started ok. Take key fob away and re-tried, and no key found. The mechanical key locking and opening of the door fixed the "glitch" and all now seems well again....also noticed the red LED on the keyfob was flashing, which I have never seen before. My keyfob is two weeks old, so not likley to be a battery problem. Hopefully it won't happen again...in the rain !!!.

Whilst out shopping at the Trafford Centre last weekend, I saw a Lexus demo stand. It had an IS250 SE/L with what must have been a facelift. The only real noticeable difference was the rear light clusters. They had a very distinctive curve line in them similar to the back quarter lights and the internal trim...you know the curve I am talking about. Has anybody else seen these lights? Have tried to find an image on the web but can't find one. -

Good luck with the opportunity. You never know you may well be back to Lexus in a few years. Similar to you I have just traded in my IS250 SE for a IS250 SR Auto. The auto box is the only way to go in my view now, having owner the manual for 3 years, 30,000miles. I also had one insurance claim...a car went into the back of me, leading to new bumper, and exhaust end pipe. What is it with the IS250 and rear ends.?? Must be the driver behind taking a closer look. Great review of your Lexus experience, not far from my own views..Tyres were the biggest expense..except I did have a dashboard rattle within weeks of getting my first IS250, which lead to Lexus mashing up my dash in the process of fixing it... Wasn't happy as it was one of the early ones in the UK 05, and had to wait for spare dash parts for several weeks. -

Nice wheels. Have you upgraded your break callipers as well? I see they say Lexus on them. -
I don't mind Bonfire night....that's the 5th of November. I don't even mind one of the days at the weekend close to this date being used for formal firework shows. What grinds my gears is the way people think anytime between the end of October all the way through to Xmas and New Year is a reason to set off fireworks. I personally (when I am President) would ban the private use of fireworks without a license for all days of the year except 5th of Nov and a designated weekend day. There is no excuse for the continued setting off of fireworks that seems to occur every night around this time. I blame the scroats!.

Thanks for the advice. Got any images of what this looks like? Had first drive out yesterday and the car was a very pleasant drive. Only complaint was the bloody TomTom, which at one point failed to have audio for a telephone call I made, and then when I tried to make the call again, it got stuck in ringing, making a ringing noise, yet the phone handset had answered, and had the person on the other end hearing me shouting at my TomTom, and then it falling to the floor.... Girlfriend thinks its user error, but I'll wait to see if it happens again. Reset the unit and it made calls ok after that.
