  1. Appreciate what you are saying, but it seems Mayweather is more of a celebrity/star in the States than Hatton is within the UK.Noticed Mayweather had recently been on the US equivalent of the UKs "strictly come dancing"-a saturday night show aimed at Families, and his performance was amazing, alot described him as a born entertainer,it seems his career has been built from his determination to seek attention as a showman. There are alot of boxers out there that have this within their personalities, alot often being accused of attention seekers. On the flip side of course there are many focused boxers that dont get caught up in these distrations-mainly because it is looked upon as odd within the boxing communities alot of these boxers come from.Mayweather obviously has a very ambitious agent, who obviously feels that as a showman Mayweather makes more money and thats what its all about for alot of these guys.I feel Mayweather is a clever pro and he has worked really hard to be where he is.Ricky Hatton is a magnificent boxer its just i dont think he really was ready for this particular welter.
  2. mine was sc kit, prolex manifold, set of gauges and holder, all for £2k.now that was a bargain-must have been feeling generous that day.
  3. its a naughty meter,if youve been a bad boy on the forum-you get a % warning and only you can see your own,ie i cant see your warn meter, but can see mine
  4. Anees one of the tuners we use on the M3 forum helped out on the TG car at the last minute-this is what he had to say.John Thorne races in his own team and is a stand up guy with lots of race experince and his own tuning/race company http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuning/...r_24_Hour.shtml
  5. as above,Gord will supply one fitted, although i sold mine with alot more stuff for alot less-so imho thats expensive. But the reason everyone is so confident that your engine will fine is because-we've all got or had superchargers from TTE on our cars.I did 55k miles in mine and its now back to std-the car is running perfectly with or without it.TTE designed this kit to work safely with the car-its not just thrown together in a cheap way, like some of the kits available.
  6. accuracy was awful by hatton.Even if the ref had let him work on the inside,he still wouldnt have made any impact.Mayweathers style is a little Ali like-in that he sits and gets beat for 1-5/6 rounds then he unleashes his combos which are always accurate, high scoring hits.I think Hatton was out classed simple as that.
  7. mate that 330d,with the stig behind the wheel was awesome.i think they did some serious mods though to enter a 24hr endurance race-costly modifications required.
  8. I'm not a long term sceptic at all. I just tell it like it is. My experience is 100% accurate based over 2 years of dealings with both a Lexus dealership and a car. There are loads of Lexus fans on this site who will shout all things positive. I just like to say what I have found. That's where the benefit of an owners club comes in. Else it's a fan club. good and fair point.
  9. oh bugger its not,its the ascari.booo!!!,next week i suppose
  10. nice one apparently theyve got a scud on tonight.
  11. supercharge it.the engine will be fine.
  12. The indicative price from Lexus is £51k with a sunroof as a £800 option. other than that its fully loaded. In April when released the car will prob have at least a 12 mth lead time (similar to LS600h, Launched in Nov, cant get one till July next year) Thats from me at Nottingham. I'd tell stoke to check their dealer intranet!!! ok ill tell em.please appreciate i got that info from the sales team there, not my info. ha we seem to be talking about the same thing on different threads!! I wasnt having a go, but i'd not like to misinformed, so was just getting the facts right! ha ha Cant wait to see and drive it though No I know you arent having a go mate,absolutely-its best to get the facts.cheers for sharing the info.
  13. ah i see,yes that would be fairly problematic.
  14. hmmm i suppose youre right, they do get some nasty things said about them ,although there are still a few jap cars i can think off that are well respected and get a good press in mags.I know with performance cars people are generally partial to the likes of Porsche and other german creations, but thats mainly an image thing, however i think its hard to dismiss the jap kings such as the skyline and evo's of this world.I mean if the japanese can create a car that humbles a 911TT then i think the world has to sit up and give credit to those crazy japanese engineers at some point. I think one of the main reasons jap performance cars dont get the thumbs up is cos imo the Japanese are just about getting to grips with styling. In the past only a few japanese creations could be looked at as beautiful-for example the impreza-i think people always respected their performance, just couldnt get past the looks and the cheap interior.I think when a manufacturer like Nissan creates a skyline, again people would never dream of doubting its performance strengths, but again couldnt deal with the looks, especially people who may not want the image associated with street racing. But this all changes when a manufacturer like Lexus come along and has a stab-they are well known for being the japanese mercedes and so when people think of the Lexus, they know they can expect equivalent quality and spec from the car,as they would expect from bmw/merc performance cars. Its also going to have very similar if not more advanced technology than its rivals also. When the 350z came out mags couldnt get enough of it,its an awesome car and it got the respect it deserved, but it was also easier for people to go and buy it aswell cos of the fact that it looked like a smart sports car(no image worries),like the Z4 and SLK equivalents,it had the same spec and it was quicker than its equivalent rivals.I think the IS-F is going to be welcomed because its the first time the reviewers have actually got a car infront of them that they can seriously compare,as opposed to two cars where the only factor they really share is performance. It happens in alot of reviews.just my opinion of course. When the LF-A comes out it will be as cute as the R8 is and more powerful, its unlikely to get anything other than a warm welcome,i cant wait for that too.
  15. i got a medion desktop from aldi about 18 months ago, along with 19" screen and an extra HD and a few other goodies. The desktop was great and still is,unfortunately the screen one day burnt out.I contacted aldi and as the 12 month guarantee had run out suggested i should contact Medion.I called Medion and i have to say they were and are the most annoying company ive ever had to deal with over the phone.I was naturally armed with a warranty which was 3 years if i remember correctly, and proceeded to explain my situation. The woman on the other told me that i was a liar and that i couldnt possibly have the model of computer i claimed to have as it hadnt been released yet and when i assured her that i have a receipt and box and computer infront of me which was purchased at Aldi-she said she was going to put the phone down cos she said she had already explained that the computer hadnt been released yet and she couldnt help me,when i asked her to explain why i had the computer infront of me,she suggested "maybe its stolen".To say i was ****** off with their attitude is an understatement. After cooling down i rung back and guess what-the same cow answered-i put the phone down on her calling her a ****** ******!!!!etc and then managed to get through to another fool-who stated the same thing,i could hear the cow in the background prompting him.At this point i called medion head office where i spoke to a true gentleman who gave me at least 50 apologies and sent me a brand new 3 year warranty,he was high up and only spoke to him after speaking to 5 other prats. He was such a smart manager that he even called their office to find out about the incident and then promptly called me and sent me another letter of apology with my new warranty stating that action could possibly be taken against one of the employees although he couldnt go into details and said that he hopes he had restored my faith in the brand. This guy was clearly in a high up mgt position cos his employer clearly recognised his mannerism with customers and sensible approach to customer satisfaction.SO my conclusion is the computers are very good value for money and they employ absolute idiots to man the phones and absolute gentlemen to run their mgt depts.
  16. ive read its got better brakes than the M3,better sound than both M3/RS4 and its more of a drivers car like one would expect an M car to be.It is looking good and it does seem to be looking better for everyday use than either of the competitors.
  17. Awesome news Gord, congrats and best wishes to the family.yeah was gonna say youre pretty cool for a grandad.
  18. nice one, this is the mag ive been waiting to review it,ill check it out.imho if evo like it,then its a winner-cos i think they do chat sense.
  19. That's not too bad at all! Doesn't an M3 coupe cost £51k basic? How much is the cheapest IS-F then? And what are the options? Is it just MM and the sunroof? £51,000 is the cheapest. but it comes with everything (except a sunroof) MM,adaptive cruise, leather, all the kit, 19" wheels and £51k is the indicative price from Lexus, however they vary rarely change that by a massive amount. The sunroof is available as an £800 option. Metallic paint is included and there are 5 colours velvet black (non metallic) Arctic Pearl White, Mesa Red, Palladio Silver and Cadaxton Slate ( dark grey) not the electric blue that Lexus Showcased the car in. I would expect there to be at least a 12 month wait for this car come January as they will be launched in limited numbers Cant wait for the product training so when i was told £45k by my dealer, are you suggesting that the £51k price is a premium over list or that is list price,im just wondering. Also you say there will be a 12 month wait-how so,why would they delay production?
  20. The indicative price from Lexus is £51k with a sunroof as a £800 option. other than that its fully loaded. 21. actually i take back what i said,it is stupidly fast,*** knows what i was rambling on about above.I got it into my head that the 997 TT did the ring in 7:30,but was actually thinking of the carrera GT.thats fast and its 2 secs quicker than the 997TT,thats an absolute sick car!!.
  22. they are obviously selling at a premium over list then, cos Lexus wont be pricing the car above £45-46k and thats from Lexus Stoke. Its limited production and so naturally dealers will try and exploit the fact-holding on to their cars for the best price.although its regarded as bad practice and no Manufacturer approves it is allowable in this case and in the case of the rs6 which the uk is only gonna see about 200 off.
