  1. Hi Mate, good choice there. My sister runs a 54 plate 3.2l DSG TT and i think they are great cars, that one has 250hp.I dont know much about the 225hp one.Is it turbocharged?I know they handle beautifully and most of them are capable cars, especially the ones with over 200hp.My sister has the DSG box and they dont recommend owning one of those boxes without an audi warranty, cos they are expensive jobs when they go wrong.I think the cars are pretty solid in the handling department, they look good and they sound good too.My sister has the full milltek system on and the note at full chat is awesome.good luck with the purchase.
  2. Why are people wanting something to be done about this?I cant understand. Why do we all give a **** about racism? The people involved, loosers with no room for intelligent argument or discussion. Why should a country, sport or team be penalised for the actions of a few individuals.Do we really believe when Hamilton says,he was upset by the racist chanting etc.I dont believe him, because every ethnic group of people living or working in any country are aware of the fact that racism is all around them and if they are suddenly shocked by the attituides or actions of people then they were either expecting too much from life or are just plain naive.Lots of people dont like the colour of my skin and once or twice in my life ive been on the recieving end of racist verbal attacks, however it really doesnt affect me.Why?Well because we cant change the world,we can only change ourselves and hope that has some effect. What pisses me off about this country in general nowadays is the fact that it doesnt matter if your white/black/brown or green most people have some sort of chip on their shoulder about racism and how they are affected negatively.Just stop moaning FFS,nothing is gonna change and if we arent careful those chips will eventually become huge logs that we carry around, eventually ruining our lives. If a country opens its doors to the world, then that government is brutally aware of what their agenda is and how they will benefit from it,even if joe public the voter hasnt gotta clue.
  3. i think its more about disposable cash. All our family cars have personalised plates, alot with the car name in the reg plate. However its more of a luxury than a need.If you just spent £50k on a car,an extra £1k is nothing to personalise it,especially if you like the car.
  4. Im sorry to be pedantic, but you demonstrated a misunderstanding by making a comment about your GF's business being VAT registered.your comment suggested that any VAT registered business could fit car parts. All car manufacturers have to allow within the initial warranty period of the car,an allowance for customers to use independent garages to service vehicles as long as OEM parts are used and manufacturer guidelines are followed. In BMWs case its the initial 3 year period of the cars life,as soon as the extended warranty period begins you have to use service centres within the BMW network.I believe that the BER(car block exemption regulation)doesnt allow a manufacturer to stop independent garages from servicing customers vehicles, and further disallows manufacturers to reject warranty claims based on the use of independent service centres. TTE supercharger uses the OEM clutch and there is no advice from TTE that an uprated one is required. quote from the pdf below "IN OCTOBER 2003, E.U. LEGISLATION AFFECTING THE MOTOR TRADE CAME INTO FORCE. ITS FULL TITLE IS ‘BLOCK EXEMPTION REGULATIONS 1400/2002’ (IN SHORT ‘BER’). BER changes the way cars are serviced and repaired. It gives motorists a lot more freedom in their decision as to who should look after their cars. Before BER, it was very difficult to have cars, which were still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, serviced anywhere except a franchised dealer. Now motorists can use any garage of their choice to service their cars without invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty.*" little bit of info- http://www.uccc.co.uk/uccc/6192%20Unipart%...v2%20CLIENT.pdf http://www.iccuk.com/service/blockexemption.htm
  5. It means you can buy your new Lexus from Lexus, have it serviced by VAT Reg Garage using genuine Lexus/toyota parts, and the warranty will still stand 100%, nothing thay can do about it, its the LAW. So Snowman has had genuine lexus/toyota part fitted by VAT Reg Garage, so he should have no problems at all, and as Mat has said, its down to Lexus/toyota to prove the supercharger did the damage, that is 100% correct. And its their job to PROVE the supercharger caused the damage.Loggyboy youve misunderstood what Gord was saying. He means VAT reged garage with OEM parts,he isnt suggesting that any VAT registered business can fit it.
  6. interesting Stav, think ill have to have mine put back to std then i had my car noise tested at simpsons the other week and it was 97db-may have to change something now.And how do I go about getting TUV certs for my ESS supercharger conversion?
  7. clinique -happy,its old but i like it.
  8. those train times are good for me guys!!
  9. if you want central then old bank hotel as suggested is as good as it gets IMHO,its opposite St Mary's(university church),its on the high street.very cool hotel.
  10. it was funny when that guy showed up,i was shocked too.
  11. excellent news Tony.Ive given lots of people links to WIM in the past, especially on the M car forums and its gonna be even better now you have a premises. You are gonna do really well-well done!!
  12. try the old bank hotel,we always stay there when we are down Oxford-its central and close to uni. http://www.oldbank-hotel.co.uk/
  13. oh makes sense now,no im not in the job yet, still studying-and not sure if im going to start either. Both my Fiancee and sister are ST2 doctors, fiancee is in Anaesthetics and sister in Psych, one under mersyside and the other, under Manchester deanery.Im sort of a little annoyed at the work load they are under and the facts you mentioned earlier about abusive and ungrateful patients, when i started med school i was a little bit ignorant of these facts and didnt think there was so much work involved, even though both my parents are GPs and insisted it wouldnt be a cruise. If anything i want to get into Primary care,as it seems getting to consultant level is harder than its ever been and most of my friends and family within medicine are either in or have completed their GP training and are making quite good money as either salaried/partnered GPs within mid/large size practices, easy 9-5pm job really-if youre salaried. Also dont know whats happened over the last 10 years but medicine has changed and so have hospitals-as consultants have now given up most of their power to managers making the places target driven as you mentioned earlier, lots of machine like protocol and too little money within hospitals in the junior ranks.Btw i appreciate what you say about the hosp accomodation it is no doubt dire-ive had to stay over at many hospital accomodations over the last few years and its horrid-however i suppose if youre a resident then its either that or buying a flat locally only to be moved on to some other hospital within the year.anyway nice chatting to you.
  14. Any more cheek and I'll stop your pocket money nice one bigcat
  15. quick question-if youre on call you arent allowed to leave the hospital.how are you managing to leave?also are you F2 or ST1,i noticed you mentioned youre a junior doctor so why not use the hospital accomodation-its generally £300/400 a month-not that much for a junior doctor, and which deanery are you under btw?i know lots of hospital doctors under practically every deanery there is-although most are under the Mersyside deanery.
  16. hmmm, nice fast motor!!343hp,had mine weighed before the supercharger went on and its 1470kg-its one quick car and the handling on M cars is sublime-you wont regret getting one.Mine is SMG and i love it,makes life very easy for everday life and track work.I would say you can find a nice example in the £18k mark at the moment, lots of 02 cars around with sat/nav,tv,smg all the best bits to have and low mileage.Only disadvantage of the car are the expensive consumables, just had to fork out £800 for PS2s all round and cos mine is still under warranty i got it serviced last month by BMW,inspection II cost me £700 and inspection I is around £550.Independent bmw specialists arent much cheaper either, about £100 less on both aforementioned services.Modifications are more expensive than the Lexus too, superchargers approx £5k,decent coilovers £2k,BBK kits £2.5k,decent zorsts £1k.I use simpson motorsport, they are doing my supercharger conversion and other bits http://www.simpsonmotorsport.com/ try and get some csl wheels too, great mod-much lighter than the 19s and 18s for the regular M3 and they dont cost loads, about £1.2k-make the car look better.and never buy an M3 that had its 1200 mile running in service later than 1700miles-if you engine failure,BMW will not warranty the engine-even though they have tried to sell many cars which exceeded this mileage-they simply wont cover you-its terrible practice, but they dont seem to care. this is a good un-comes with 6 months bmw warranty-gives you a good chance to resolve any issues the car may have. 52,000 miles, Silver '02, Black Leather, 19" alloys, BMW Warranty (which was £1050) until June '08, Full BMW Service History Including Inspection II, correct running in(1200 mile) service carried out,Recent Pzero Rosso Tyres, excellent condition. Garaged, I have owned the car for over 3 yrs.MOT June '08 Registered Aug '02 FBMWSH All Recalls completed correctly. BMW 6 disc CD changer, complete Key set Multi-func steering wheel Front Centre Arm Rest Headlamp Washer System Front Foglamps Bi-Xenon Headlamps Dynamic Stability Control Remote Control Alarm Electric Seats Park Distance Control Rain Sensor Tyre Pressure Sensor Climate Control, 3 previous owners. £17,295. ono Best thing to do is-find a car you like, then call bmw customer services and give them the reg, they can tell you the history and all recalls that have been done-good luck.
