  1. nice piccy http://image.blog.livedoor.jp/jdm_kumiko/i.../f/ff67c588.jpg
  2. quicker than its rivals? where have you read that-please point me to the irresponsible journalist that wrote that rubbish, that would be journalistic suicide to make comments on a car-that hasnt had its official ring lap time done yet and hasnt been given to EVO or any of the other important car mags to compare-remember these people make or break a car. Many wont even start commenting on its potential until they get a ring lap time.BTW the new skyline has just set a 7:38-if the iS-F hits an 8 mins ill be surprised.
  3. and just to proove they have beaten the buggatti veyron time-GT3RS time and CSL time around the ring http://www.youtube.com/swf/cps.swf?video_i...=1&border=0 this car is going to be amazing
  4. These cats have been bred with modern living in mind, they resemble mini tigers and apparently make ideal pets for apartments.Check out the size of the cat that belongs to the russian couple in the second link, its huge. scroll down and look at what you need to feed them.No doubt this has come from America, but you can now purchase these cats in the UK. http://www.toygers.org/about.html Please note some images & comments on the link below are not for work/family viewing http://www.diesel.pp.net.ua/news/2007-02-15-104
  5. yeah i think youre safe now,as the symptoms apparently appear 5-10 mins after filling up.I must admit my emissions light has been coming on recently and it always seems to happen within 5 minutes of filling up with V-power,lots of people have shared the same issue with the M3.
  6. this really is the only car to rave about right now.enthusiasts all over the place from different forums give this vehicle sooooo much respect and there is good reason too. There are GT3RS drivers/CSL drivers who drive the ring in 7:45s.word on the street is that this badboy will do a 7:35-thats apparently how good its gonna be.those enthusiasts are considering chucking there track orientated cars to get this road/track car which packs all the luxuries in the world in a car that drive around the ring quicker than a buggati veyron. Only downsides are badge snobbery-if you can deal with that, then thats cool and the only other problem is its size-its a big car and if you dont mind that then its the best a man can get. 1) V6 3.8 (VR 38) twin turbo engine producing in excess of 470bhp, 420lb-ft torque at 6700rpm 2) DSG paddle shift gearbox (similar to F1) 3) Active four wheel drive 4) ABS 5) Brembo 6 pot front brakes and 4 pot rear brakes 6) UK car fitted with extra oil coolers 7) Rear diffuser 8) Viscous limited slip rear differential 9) 20 inch wheels, Bridgestone RE070 tyres 10) Length 4855 mm 11) Height 1370 mm 12) Internal display unit for gauges (mfd) 13) Climate control 14) Satellite navigation – optional 15) Electric windows 16) Wide angle HID headlights 17) 4 seater 18) Leather interior 19) Bose sound system 20) Airbags 21) Thatcham 1 alarm system 22) Choice of 6 colours in (Japan) 23) Retail UK price from £55,000 24) UK delivery from September 2008 Non of the above specifications are confirmed but it is reasonably accurate through various sources. CAN ORDER FROM MIDDLESHURST TODAY-THEY WANT £500 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.
  7. be careful mate,a few guys over a few other forums have had issues with V-power recently, symptoms being jerking on acceleration and then the car dying soon after filling up.Shell are looking into whether there could be diesel contamination and a decent source says its 99% that, and that shell are doing tests all over the country as the problem seems to be escalating day to day as a few cars are being affected each day.its not on the same scale as the tesco fiasco, due to the fact that V-power isnt used by the majority of drivers-however shell have already told the affected customers they can expect all repairs to be paid for by them .Hope they arent selling of loads of cheap dodgy fuel.
  8. got his reg?call the police now!tell them he said he would hit you 3 times and he was pushing you around and he said he would hit you if you called the police, thats why you didnt, basically when you speak to the police on the phone, say that you have been scared for life and that you felt your life was at risk-act scared and they will act.Call the company and tell them that one of their drivers has threatened you and that the police are now involved and they are investigating the incident. If you left the scene of the accident without getting him to admit liability and hand over his companies insurance details, then you dont have any chance with money, although you can have this prick involved with the police. He will probably not loose his job,as i personally know two people that i employ who do long distance drving for one of my fathers companies and they both have criminal records longer than my arm,its quite likely this scumbag just got out a few months ago too.
  9. Thats fair enough,i was interested in peoples opinions of car budget in relation to brand. Some people are quite happy to pay any amount,if they like something, regardless of brand.I however dont think i could ever spend more than £50/60k on a car and if i did it wouldnt be anything like a Merc,Beemer or Lexus it would have to be something seriously special. The new cars really are amazing and seem to have overtaken the German competition(s class etc),its going to be interesting to see if after beating the Germans at the Luxury game, can they do the same on the performance game with the IS-F, LF-A.
  10. behind the scenes F1 is dark!so much at stake for each team.
  11. in this case i hope you guys are assuming that your cars made the official 156bhp out of the factory.I was at a dyno day for M3's recently in Milton Keynes and some of the std M3s were making 323bhp and some were making 350bhp,so just take that into account.Lee's car made good power, in fact it made over the expected figure, and he doesn't have much else going on other than the std S/C as far as power mods are concerned.
  12. Unregister? If you no longer need to use the forum then dont log in, i guess?
  13. i certainly wouldnt rely on any Lexus service dept to make sure your transmission fluid has been done,if you havent specified it then its possibly not been done unless your service dept are spot on,and very few are.Id get it checked by looking through old receipts perhaps,or simply check it,as mentioned above it should be a pinkish colour if its ok,or if its been changed recently.Clutch on a 50k car that you say hasnt been abused/raced etc seems a little low.We have two auto IS200s and both are on original clutch from new and both have 80k+ on the clock, both are well looked after,im not saying they arent showing signs of wear in comparison to when they were at 40k,but steve at charlesworth motors doesnt seem to think there is anything wrong the clutches,so i cant see how a non abused 50k car can show any signs of imminent clutch failure.Id still get the trans fluid checked.
  14. ive always thought the larger intercooler, minus mesh looks awesome, nice one! BTW ever thought of getting an M5?youre part there already.
  15. wait for the ring lap time!people can spout of all day,how in their opinion one out classes the other, but the truth of which is actually the better Performance car will be revealed soon, and if it is true that the IS-f outperforms both the RS4 and the M3 then we will know that cos it will be quicker around the ring than both,if not then we will know not to believe what we hear in the pub or watch on youtube.
  16. Basically this happens to us all the time,we have two IS's that never get driven they are often left for months without driving.I too have called up Gord a member from this forum when its happened and said i cant get in to my car,and naturally he's said just use the key in the lock manually. It opens the boot straight away, but the driver side door does nothing, you have to do it about 10 times before the click actually happens and this has happened to us loads of times,so can understand why you were so confused,as we have been the same on many occasions.
  17. As far as i am concerned we can expect the usual Lexus luxury and a reliable well built car which is what Lexus are all about. However peoples opinions will no doubt differ, because it all depends what you think makes a good car and which measurements you choose to use when comparing it against other cars.It is well known that the Nurburgring lap time is the most important figure when discussing PERFORMANCE cars and most will agree that the quicker the lap time, the better the car.But it doesnt mean that all people use this scale, which is only normally referred too between enthusiasts and manufacturers. The average chap on the street who is deciding which dealer to go to for his performance car, most probably isnt gonna look at these times and probably isnt aware that this scale is even used amongst manufacturers when building cars to match rivals,in fact the chap on the street will most probably wait for Jeremy Clarkson to tell him which car is the best,or he will probably wait for some youtube vids which claim that an IS-F just killed an RS4 or an M3 in a straight line and then go and buy the Lex. At the end of the day if the IS-F can prove its quicker or at least as quick as the M3 or RS4 around the ring, then it will definetely be given due respect,if it falls short then it could be heavily slated.Im not sure if other tests matter,if straight line performance is what a person wants to see,im sure there wont be a huge amount in it,but like i said before straight line performance is for wimps, its how it performs overall that matters, seeing as its a performance car.I have a feeling lexus are finalizing the car and they have an RS4 and an M3 in their lair and most probably would have designed the car to match them at least, remember the IS-f is basics, wait for the LF-a that is gonna be what they will really be concentrating on,and i bet they will tone down the IS-f,so as to not steal too much attention away from the LF-a.Its rumoured that BMW toned down their V8 in the new M3 as they were scared that it was entering M5 performance, which would make customers reason toward an M3 rather than the more expensive M5/M6.Either way Its gonna be a serious contender.
  18. F off Gord. New Audi RS4 is defo the better car for getting from A to B in the quickest/safest possible way,and even a terrible driver can drive one easily and manage to kill most cars, problem is that its too safe and just doesnt have the lunacy aspect, which i look for in a performance car.Evos,rs4,rs6 ive tried all these cars and they are most certainly quicker in a straight line than a std M3,and as quick as the M3 in the twisties, they just dont have any buzz factor for me,all feels a bit too safe and unconnected.Although once the 510bhp is unleashed,RS4s wont even get a look in.
  19. Thanks Adie Yeah i know Anees those bushes are pretty expensive,it may be better to just use the money towards some coilovers
  20. try an artist named RAZEL,he is a don at the art and a friend who made a recording at an LA concert for me was just blown away by the live experience,i know exactly what you mean its really impressive stuff.
  21. yeah im fine with that too.Lee is a video wizard.
  22. Hi Dave thanks for the headz up.Ive done a fair bit of research on this conversion to determine who is the best to go to.I spoke to many people including VF engineering,ESS,AA and they all have created great working kits which are renowned world wide.I also managed to speak to one of the engineers at VF and he actually put me in touch with a rival ESS,saying that they probably could help me more,as they are now creating kits starting at 600hp only and they are phasing out their lower power units. This is a vid of the head of VF engineering, explaining a little bit about supercharging an M3 in general,he is a very smart guy,and he told me he has worked closely with ESS,as they are both using the same components to create their respective kits, they both use the Vortech VS2Q supercharger and the same injectors. With regard lower comp pistons(9:5:1),cams etc, they arent required unless you are going for the 700bhp kit,in which case you also need 9000rpm valve springs and an engine bearing kit, total cost £10k.Even if i aim for the 550bhp kit @7psi,its still std internals. check out the VF video @anees. yeah the M3 dampers wont be happy, but my wallet just cant cope at the moment with too much expense,so i decided to leave that till i can afford it.Ive spoken to a few yanks and they all have ESS superchargers, alot are still on std suspension and havent had problems, though it really does need sorting. As far as the bushes are concerned i may actually go for these as they seem alot better, but ill have to work out which are easier to live with day to day as ive heard some make alot of noise and yes i know alot of e46 owners that use the powerflex, infact i had the same suggestion by someone on bm3w today. http://www.simpsonmotorsport.co.uk/bmw-tun...&product=24
