  1. Quote from Wilkipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS 2003–2007 The LS 430 update debuted in September 2003 as a 2004 model, introducing a new six-speed automatic transmission and revised styling.[74] The powerplant remained the same as before. Exterior changes included restyled front and rear fascias, redesigned adaptive headlights that swiveled the projector headlamps in the direction of vehicle turns, light-emitting diode (LED) taillights, and different wheels.[74] The interior received knee airbags, lighted rear-seat vanity mirrors, and new trim selections, including bird's eye maple wood.[42] New options included an updated navigation system, Bluetooth, a backup camera, and a pre-collision system. A driver-programmable electronic key feature allowed the vehicle to detect the key fob in the owner's pocket and unlock the doors by touch.[75] [edit] So it would appear the specifications you want are optional and may not be fitted to all models
  2. Looks good,I did my rear clusters son after buying but sprayed them in situ, masking off the bodywork around them,I think they had about 6 coats in total, had no problems with MOT or being pulled over. I also fitted the clear front indicators but one of them leaked in water which then rusted the reflector and looked a mess,so I went for the smoked ones which have been fine and look better on a silver car I think. Also went for a private plate which I almost stole from a seller on ebay for £95.00 including the transfer fee L40 ***
  3. I've got to agree check the fuse links in the box in the engine compartment first.
  4. Hi, Once you have it loose tilt the whole thing slightly upwards then give a good tug/waggle,the vents inside are at an angle so it's not just a case of pull directly towards you plus there is a foam surround that snags and the hazard warning lights connector mounted on top of the vents which is a tight fit. Once you have access to the connector depress the lug and pull it out of the socket. When refitting again tilt the vent and make sure the wiring loom doesn't get caught.
  5. The rear lower axle carrier bush is not available from Lexus, just the whole unit I got mine from the USA, poly pushes called ADUS. If you type bushes, bushings, bush into Ebay someone is selling them at about £45. Try also 'Polybush' Phoned Andy at Lexus and got two bushes to cover both sides and then found the superflex bushes to replace the bush on the hub and bought a new heavy duty battery to see her through winter B) Sorted
  6. I like Cadburys chocolate buttons or are they chocolate levers?
  7. Hi and welcome to the LOC. I have never heard of the problem you describe affecting any Lexus model,if there is water damage it should only affect part of the wiring loom and does not require the whole lot to be replaced, what do you know about the cars history?Has it been involved in a flood? Is it not still under warranty? Is it causing any running problems? If it is a UK specification model Lexus should be able to locate the service history, can you contact the previous owner? Seems strange a 3 year old Lexus ends up at an auction sale and not on the dealers used forecourt, have you done an HPI check as this sounds like an insurance write off! I would request more detailed information regarding this loom problem and then see an independent auto electrician to confirm the diagnosis. The service/MOT price also seems excessive even at Lexus prices Sorry there are more questions than answers but this is a 1st for me.
  8. Seems to be a common problem, the sunroof drains seem to be the favourite cause http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=21662 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22851
  9. I can't understand how there has been wear to that extent, with the teeth being so worn and shiny it looks like something has been in contact with them, the question is what? The only possible is some foreign object has been picked up whilst driving and has caused the wear,if it had got stuck between the pick up ring and the ABS sensor I would also have expected sensor damage.
  10. Not sure where I read it but seem to remember something about adverse weather conditions can upset the system as the detector is mounted in an exposed position behind the front grill, may be worth checking for debris or other obstructions.
  11. Not sure for the GS the link below is for the LS but gives the basic proceedure,Just make sure you refit anything you remove. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/throttlebody.html
  12. Not sure about the VVTI engine but my spec is 5W30 fully synthetic Havoline from Morrissons at £16.95/5 litres plus genuine filter
  13. Thank you for supplying the information above, as a certain supermarket says "Every little helps" and it's the same when it comes to savings on Lexus parts.
  14. Good news on the MOT pass :D Yes I guess it could be the throttle body butterfly, they do get a build up of carbon and it may be worth giving it a good clean it certainly wouldn't do any harm.
  15. Hi, The whole assembly is called the 'Rod assy, strut rear" part # 48780-50010 cost in Euros is 99.00 the actual bush is part # 48725-22110 around 19.00 Euros. PM ACLex who may offer a discount and postal delivery.
  16. Hi, If it is the square shaped arm which connects to the drop link to the anti roll bar it is called the "Arm Assy Rear Suspension # 2" part # 48730-50010 and the bush is # 48725-50030. If this doesn't sound right and you can take a picture I will help further. I found this which number is it? http://www.clublexus.com/forums/attachments/ls400/159807d1261295254-help-with-vibration-92-ls400-ls400-rear-suspension.gif
  17. Welcome to the LOC. I don't know if there is a kit but the bearing part number is 90903-63011 and you will also need a replacement circlip and oil seal, try Lexus as it can be cheaper than other sources and the quality is guaranteed. We have a resident Lexus parts manager on here ACLex who may give you a discount and post the required parts to you.
  18. There doesn't seem to be many around but found an ISF http://www.modelsupermarket.com/product/A_Category_Road_Car/HPI8428.htm
  19. I can look at the diagrams for you but you cannot access them yourself. Could you provide the year of your LS
  20. Hi and welcome to the LOC. Does one of you work for the Cooperative and the other for Panasonic?
  21. First open the toolbox area in the boot, locate the switch at the back and make sure the air suspension is switched on! Most dash warning lights go out when the engine is started, except the handbrake light until it is released and the seatbelt light until it is fastened,do any other lights remain on after this? With it being stood so long the seals are probably well gone or the pump may have seized, the only thing I can suggest is locate the air pump and check if it is running then go from there. I think the AS relay is located in a black plastic box around the air filter area. With the cost of this type of suspension it may be cheaper to convert to a conventional system. Mine is a 1994 but with TEMS coil overs and not airbag suspension thankfully. Where are you in the UK? Not many Celsiors about. What ever you do don't scrap it! If it comes to that point let me know it would always be welcome at my Celsior Sanctuary.
  22. Wouldn't have thought it was the transmission,I believe there are rubber couplings on the propshaft which may be worn but check all the rear suspension rubbers and mounts, another possibility is worn engine and/or transmission mounts again these do fail so worth a look.
  23. That's good of them regarding the plates, did they ask to see the retention certificate before doing this?
  24. Well the phone calls and texts have stopped but somehow the buyer has managed to contact me via ebay. I've had enough now so this is the response I sent direct to the buyer's email address In response to your multiple emails, telephone calls and text messages and having taken legal advice my response is as follows. You purchased the lawnmower on or about the **************** and it was delivered as requested to your premises where upon the issue with the battery and the possible small amount of welding of the cutting deck bracket was discussed between your partner and myself and this was accepted. Payment was then made for the lawnmower therefore completing the sale where upon it became your property. The sale was made on the basis it was private and involved no other parties. In accordance with sales of this type there was no warranty/guarantee offered, implied or given and the sale was made on a sold as seen basis. Two months after purchase you are now stating the lawnmower has multiple defects rendering it unserviceable and are requesting that the lawnmower is collected and the monies paid refunded to you. The lawnmower was in regular use under my ownership and was last used without problem and producing good results a few days before it was delivered to you. Given the time lapse since the sale and the sale details listed above I have no legal or other obligations to collect the lawnmower or refund you. Furthermore your approaches and threats could be considered as harassment and I will consider taking action against you under the Protection of Harassment Act 1997 should this continue. All received electronic or voice communication regarding this matter has been recorded should the need arise for it to be required in any action taken. I trust this will bring the matter to a close.
