  1. honda accord both normal and type R, im def with you on that one aswell as the S2000. Mazda 6 is good and auidi's A4 S4 and S3. new IS350 of course has got to be one of the top one's. I wouldnt touch the Merc though, there definatly not what they used to be no matter what anyone tells you, my dad has had them for 25 years and they've got worse over the last 8 years. Finaly you need to add a Mitsubishi Starion too the clasics and an EVO (any fq from mk VII up) to the sporty edge.
  2. Slightly but I pulled up behind my dads merc yesterday and noticed (from about 10m away, so pretty damn obvious) a rust blister, not bad if it was 10 years old and fantastic if it was 16 like some LS's but its a 2000 so only just 6 years old! Oh and Its been garaged from new and done 30k (yes 5k a year)! Luckily he has already px'd it for a new one and pick's it up in about a week. PS, no I couldn't get him onto a lexus, I tried everything but muy mum is obviously a snob because she said no in the end! you just can't help some people can you?!
  3. turbo lag because he was trying to do 30mph in 5th! the lambo was about 120k aswell. you can always keep a car with a turbo in boost you just have to be a little more prepared than a super charger or N/A. I have always loved the evo, in a way it why i went for the IS. It looks similar but is refined for comfort instead of speed. the other problem is that im 23 and insurance people laugh at you when you try and get quotes and servicing every 6k is a bit of a nightmare. but I most definatly would and maybe one day i will. have you seen the new shape?
  4. It's almost so wrong that it could be right like aviators but like I said, ALLMOST. someone will think its cool, worryingly! craig
  5. how thick can you get with one head?! germany aparently has one of the lowest death rates ( I have been told so cant prove it) yet it has UNLIMITED speed on auto bahns. If they want to save petrol then drop the taxes on hybrid powered cars, they wouldnt do that tho because they would lose money! so in all honesty I dont think they could lower speed limits because of the loss in tax on petrol as less would be used. Not that doing lower speeds is lots more eco because i can get my IS200 to do 40mpg at 80mph. craig
  6. quite a cool idea, bit different and I like the look but surely opening the boot would be fine and then closing it would be an arse because if you pull on it like you would normal it would go face down onto the rubber seals and cause some damage if you was not very very careful? Kazi's boot only just opens all the way because he has that lip spoiler, surely all the extra weight would stop the auto open unless there is spring adjustment? I do like it tho. Craig
  7. No siree! Tel you say that like your glad not be assiated with one :D :winky: thanks for answering that. craig
  8. oh if only! if only I had that kind of cash to spend and of course, if it was for sale now! have a read of some of the comments they say on that forum! 'never liked lexus and that certanly wont change my mind' is he blind? sorry retorical question because he must be! '' ! Sick with envy more like! some people have no taste! :P Craig
  9. I like that alot and very good quality, you might have to make me one for my Is 200 how much would it cost? Craig
  10. mine is royal saphire and ive just ordered one. :D many thanks Chris
  11. what was the difference? do you know wich mine is? do you still have the chassis number? mine is 2000 x reg many thanks Craig
  12. Starange question Tel but did you or do you own a starion, there was a guy called tel on starion owners club from your area? Craig
  13. Did Lexus do 2 blues in the IS because some say royal blue and some saphire? many thanks Craig
  14. I dont think he is in all honesty. remember that they have to sell it on and to cover costs of your new car there advertising of your old car and space and service and all the other stuff so they add aprox £2k to it when it hits there fore court and because the new IS so popular there is a glut of the old shape. have a look on e-bay! ive seen similar spec (perhaps a few more miles) to yours go for £5.5k! saddening I know as Im in a similar position. Craig
  15. 72k a year! :o wow you do some milage no wonder you had it converted! good going :D
  16. I went for the canadian long key when I got my spare (still need to get it re-cut though). You can't replace the key blades on them (the back of the surround is molded/bonded around the blade.) However you can reprogam the keys via this fairly convoluted process here. hth h blades off e bay for £6.95 are aprox 5mm longer too like the canadian one but it does not matter, you have two options, 1 cut the 5mm off the end and then get it cut or 2 just get it cut, as long as the ends match all that will hapen is the key head sticks 5mm further out the lock. makes no difference. I took 2 keys to lexus to have them reprogramed and Leicester did it FREE. should be £50 so be prepared just incase. my keys were blacks off e bay and 2 second hand keys off e bay. blanks bere £6.95 each inc postage and 2nd hand keys were £15 each inc postage and key cut was £6 each. Craig sorry blanks not blacks! you can tell its monday morning!
  17. yes. and it has to be replaced after 100.000miles or 6 years, I think. I thort the perpous of having a chain is to stop it needing changing? Im no mecanic I was just under the impression. makes sense tho that it would need changing but why go to the expense when there belts last that long? Craig
  18. I love my car being clean and hand wash it at least once a week and wax it to, I feel, a high standard but I have to admit its not quite as good as some of the stuff he's done. When all said and done though everyone still has to drive down the same :tsktsk: 'd up roads and cover the car in muck in a matter of miles so it really wouldn't be worth it? maybe if it is kept in a garage and used only when conditions were right. I own a car to enjoy and the person that owns the company I work for taught me a good lesson, he had just brought a new bently continental and there like 5liter engin's and one of my questions were 'what's the MPG', his answer 'I don't care, I brought that car to drive and enjoy and things you usualy enjoy do cost money'. He is not a snob and is very down to earth and since then I don't worrie about MPG and servicing and what things cost (aslong as i can aford them sensibly) If I like it I USE it AS MUCH AS I CAN and ENJOY the privialage of having it. and I love my Lexus moral to my story, Yes keep your car clean but what a waste 2 spend that money when you wouldn't want to use it afterwards. Invest £5k on a good painting and enjoy looking at that. Enjoy DRIVING your lexus everyone :D
  19. ps im after the sat nav screen housing aswell if anyone has got one. Craig
