  1. Looks OK to me, not that i want to try it - just in case.!!!!
  2. Matt please leave me off YOUR present list!!!!
  3. OK Converse - first name would help - i have just sat and watched the DVD of the LSO. I did not rate either piece of music but i guess they were chosen more for their sonic performance throught the car system than to win votes. If you want to know what music to play in future try going along to any of the club meetings an see what music our members have in their cars. You could also try some of the popular classics i.e. Enigma Variatiuons. Planet Suite, Beehovens' 5th, as i would want to compare something i knew and how it sounds on my hi-fi. Try "Brothers in Arms" as a good tester or even the opening part of "Road to Hell" as they say rain is the hardest sound to reproduce. I think the more popular the music the more interest it would bring. And please bring the events to the other 90% of the country who don't live in London.!! Jim
  4. My pictures are the same as the rest, and i cant workout how to upload them either. Marion enjoyed the meet despite the wet and the wind and the sleet and the naff coffee, she said she enjoyed enjoyed meeting such a "nice crowd". Must have been at a different meet!!!!!!
  5. Cheers Ian, nice to see so many new faces, and some of the old ones also! The weather was pants and Marion made me stop off at The Fashion Factory in Cannock on the way back for my sins!!!!
  6. Thanks for the info, thought i was the only amateur (apart from my XYL) who drives a lexus. Can just imagine some of the members scratching their heads when they read the queery. Yes i thought the GPS was near the back and i'll let you know if anything happens. Doing RAYNET on the Long Mynd Hike. 73's G6NOL Jim
  7. Going to get a Road Angel soon and wondered how easy it is to wire it in permanently? Or are their better units i should consider?
  8. Going to be running a 2mtr (144Mhz) radio from the car this weekend, just wondered if anyone has fitted one in the new IS range yet and does the RF cause any probs? Only 5 watts into a 7/8 collinear on a mag-mount on the roof ( planty of plastic bags to protect the paint) are their any electronics like the Satnav antenea near there?
  9. Hi Al welcome to the club. Hope you enjoy the feeling of pride as you walk up to it in a car park. Had mine for 4 months and still haven't finished the instruction book yet. Enjoy.
  10. 50 plus clean license. £298 with Morethan. 1 ckaim 3 years ago (the wife on our old IS200).
  11. Stay out of Staffordshire mate as the police have just started a campaign on illegal tints follwing two recent death that they say were caused by too dark front windows.
  12. Apparantly there was only 35% of light getting throught the window, which they said was half the legal amount.
  13. I cant believe nobody saw the news item on BBC"Midlands Today" yesterday on this very subject. Staffs police are targetting cars with heavily tinted front windows, and guess what car they pulled in during the filming? Yes an IS250 with a BT56 reg number. Any one like to own up? :
  14. Still an Openreach Engineer. :D
  15. Yours is Platinum Ice by the looks of it, and i seem to remember mine had a sticker on the boot lid with the info on. Best ive seen was Chris Ss' Red before he sold it :winky:
  16. On my old IS200SE i always used Dunlop SP9000s', great wearing, only had one rearend twitch in 50k motoring.
  17. You would have to define perfect first. Do you mean a car that does everything or is utterly reliable or looks the dogs. No doubt it even if you had mega buck to spend someone would always criticise your choice. As long as you are happy with what you've got.
  18. OK Simon, we bought the first Lexus from Wolverhampton 6 years ago and cannot fault the service from them. They collect the car for service and always return it washed and shining. We dealt with Matt this time and had excellent service. They do seem to have a rather quick turnover of staff. We have seen many faces come and go. But much much better than Worcester.
  19. SiWhite- never had a diesel. Test drove many but didn't like the gearing on the sport diesel. No swapped an IS200SE last month thanks to Matt :D .
  20. The only way to get speed cameras noted is to add them as a point-of-interest as you pass them! The memory isn't bit enough they say. Or get a Road Angel or similar.
  21. Hi Matt how's it hanging? Yes quite agree, as a Man of Kent who escaped to the wide open spaces of Shropshire and having had to work " down south" after the "Hurricane" and having visited Kent many times I know where would rather be. :D
  22. No mine is the petrol sport as i couldn't get on with the diesel. IMHO Black looks stunning when clean, but having had one for a day on test it would drive me mad trying to keep it clean. To be quite honest its lucky they do the red as we ( her indoors and me ) don't think much of the colours offered. In our opinion!!!! It does sparkle in the sunshine, when ever that is!
