  1. After our dissapointing visit to Stoke, it was so refreshing to have great service for the delivery of our new IS300h yesterday. A phone call on Sunday to confirm the time from Bob the Sales Manager. Met by Jason who organised the coffee and took us into the hand-over room for all the paperwork and then into the car to set up the essentials. Apart from the weather we cannot fault the service. ( I did try to sell the Owners Club but no luck sofar.)
  2. Guess I will have to wait until Monday. If the satnav is Tom-Tom based there must be a POI folder on the memory card that you can access and load your own OV2 locations. How often are the speed camera locations updated.?
  3. My wife and i visited Lexus Stoke on Sunday after my wife had had to complain to the sales manager Gareth that no one had returned my calls about a test drive of an IS300h Luxury. Well we arrived on time but Gareth didn't, he came 25 mins late and never even spoke to us. We saw Jean Luc and he let us have a test drive of the IS300. Great so far, we liked it and wanted a Mesa Red with Black interior just like we have now. No Jen Luc had a white one and wanted to know why we didn't want to buy it. My wife said she didn't like White and we would prefer Red, quite simple we thought. Oh no he went on and on about the White car and couldn't understand why we didn't want to buy. He asked us several times what he had to do to make us drive it away there and then. I said "paint it Red"! He worked out the trade in on our then he took money of for things like allloy dents and paint chips, I might as well have given it away. We had had enough and wanted to go but he insisted on taking us to see the White IS and still badgered us about buying it. This is totally unacceptable behaviour from a Lexus employee. PS We went back to Lexus Wolverhampton Monday, were greeted by the sales manager and his staff and were shown 3 cars he had as part of the free Satnav deal. There was no pressure or intimidation. Sorry no Reds until September so we ordered a Sonic Titanium which is not far off the Platinum Ice we had on our first IS200. The trade-in offer was much more than that from Stoke and nothing was taken off for the condition of our vehicle. Perhaps Jean Luc should visit Wolverhampton and see how customers should be treated.
  4. I am awating the delivery of an IS300h with sat-nav on monday. In my IS250 Sport i use a Garmin sat-nav fitted to the air-vent with a Brodit unit. I use this because i get the speed camera data FREE every week from Pocket GPS World. As the sat-nav in the IS300h is on a mamory card, will i be able to add my POI's to the existing ones?
  5. It's the light leather. My wife said it's a pity you can't get the same colour wheels as the F Sport in 17" to match the car. I think she is right.
  6. I inquired about Messa Rad/ Black leather yesterday and was told first week in September so went for Sonic Titanium which they had in the showroom.
  7. Hi again, problem sorted at last by a second visit to Lexus Wolverhampton. They re-spot-welded the LH A pillar but found the nearside crossbar "insecure" so "resecured and retightened" it. Now it's back to normal. So it seems that it can be caused by many things not just a loose dash or heating vents. Thanks all for input. Jim
  8. Thanks for replies. Well Lexus Wolverhampton had the car for three days and still can't solve the noise so it's back in tomorrow. They had the windscreen out??? and welded the A post???. Its defo heat related as when we were on holiday last week and the car was left to heat up in the sun (Derbyshire) it was quiet, but on a cold morning it's noisy straight away.
  9. We went to Halford for a replacement, looked a good deal. Man fitted for us and then we only had to reprogramme all the window and door settings. I though all batteries were sealed for life so don't need distilled water.
  10. Hi I need help as my IS250 has developed an anoying squeek from the passangers side of the dash. It sounds like it's beween the bulkhead and glovebox. I have read the thread about removing the satnav/cd player but was wondering if there is an easy way to get the air vent out to see if the noise is coming from that area? A local garage have had a quick look but couldn't pin it down. I don't particularly want to have to pay Lexus to remove the whole dash.
  11. Hi Derek, I think a lot of low-profile tyres start to tram-line when they are wearing down, but a lot of owners like the Toyos'. My rears will be next but can't decide whether to keep the IS so that may push me to a cheaper set which I am reluctant to do. Let us know how it goes. Jim. (what colour is yours?)
  12. If you have a warranty until 2014 then why bother with the service plan? We have ours serviced by Lexus Wolverhampton, great service, they collect it from work or leave a loan car.
  13. Hi Derek greetings from Telford. I got rid of the Bridgestones and put Toyos' on and couldn't believe the difference. So quiet, I would recommend them.
  14. We had an IS200SE for six years and loved it, we changed to a manual IS250 Sport six years ago and don't regret it. The ONLY downside is £450 a year road tax. But that's just £2000 over the life of the car. We have driven both from the midlands to Orkney and I much prefer the IS250. 40plus MPG on a good run, 30MPG in the winter around town. We tried the auto IS250 but didn't like it. You can't really compare the toys on the two models, I'd be lost without the colour reversing camera!. The IS200 looks dated know IMHO, just put the two side by side and you'll see.
  15. My IS250 Sport is 5 years old and has always had this noise. I think it is just so differerent from the straight six of the previous IS200, but if it aint broke.etc etc.
  16. Had an IS200SE for six years and there is no comparison between the two. I prefer the IS250 especially on a very long drive, more toys, in Mesa Red it looks the dogs.... The snow button actually works on the 250 as my wife found out this winter. Tried the deisel for a day but didn't like the gear box, first was too short, kept stalling it, the dealer even suggested pulling away in second, couln't slip through roundabouts in the wrong gear as with the 200. Yes road tax is a bummer, but you can have your say on May6th. The IS200 is looking a little dated IMHO. Do try all varients, you are sure to find one you like.
  17. Don't worry, I ordered mine just before the 2007 budget when they announced the new tax brackets. Luckily the garage paid the new tax to put it on the road. The 250 Sport Auto was not available when we bought ours, but we did try two other 250 automatics and i found the same as with the IS200 that i always fealt in the wrong gear. Lucklily my wife agreed and we bought the manual. Its horse for courses, some like automatics, some don't. The engine will pull in most gears if you forget which one you are in. So just be greatful you are not getting stung £1000 tax to buy a new one.
  18. Hi Mick, well i have Toyos' on the front and the origional Bridgestones on the rear and the tread patterns are different. Also you could have a spare ( not on an IS250 i know) which is a totaly differnt make. In the wet roads that are good in the dry can get greasy and difficult in the wet. Check the pressures and depth of tread first.
  19. Just seen on the news that Lexus has recalled tis HS250H hybrid model along with the Prius from Toyota. Never new this animal existed. http://wot.motortrend.com/6638922/recalls/...uded/index.html
  20. Glad to change the Bridgestones on the front for Toyos. Cannot believe the difference, no more tram-lining, no more veering to the curb. So smooooth and quiet.
  21. I have only been sending e-mails. They wanted to know if i was putting it in and taking it out of the car. Well yes of course i am, its not a permanent fixture or a throw-away item. So now they have an official letter, lets see if that gets a response.
  22. Well still waiting for company to get back in touch ( Mount On Us, Park Royal, London) so Shropshire Trading Standards are getting involved now, and its less than £20
  23. I got the one for the vents on saturday, and broke it on sunday The bottom clip broke when i took it out. It does the job, but i will have to mount the sat-nav at the top of the clip as the Garmin is very wide. Just waiting for a replacement now.
  24. I would say Black around Shropshire and West Mids, which is great if you can keep it clean, thats why we chose Red. Also i would say diesel as opposed to petrol.
  25. We tried most of the range before getting a Sport and looking at all the complaints about the diesel on this forum we made the right choice. Yes the ride is a tad hard and the tax is horrific but nothings perfect. :)
