  1. Yes, he's put 30th March as registration , it's just frustrating that it is still in Bristol, and has been for over 2 weeks.
  2. I assume that's what he is doing Steve, the existing one needs it's first MOT tomorrow, so there is still a chance that it will all come together then.
  3. Whilst I am waiting for the new IS to find it's way from Bristol I had a look at dash-cams in Halfords and PC-World. Then I had a look at where it would be mounted. The obvious place is behind the rear-view mirror, but there are little black dots all over that area of the windscreen and a sucker won't stick to it. Has anyone used a "sticky" mount on that area? Are the "dots" part of the windscreen?
  4. Bad news it's still at Bristol docks awaiting a transporter going past Wolverhampton, I could have walked there in that time!!!
  5. Good news the ship docked in Bristol yesterday
  6. Had a call from the dealer, our new IS is on "Glorious Leader" due at Bristol 17th March, with a following wind.
  7. Thanks for the link NemesisUK, i'll bell the dealer tomorrow.
  8. Just had a call from my dealer to say my FSport is built and awating a boat. So with a following wind it could be ready by the end of March.
  9. Got a call from Lexus Customer Service to say our car is "In build" but she did't know when it would actually exit the factory. Then we have to wait for a boat. I think Lexus are making all leather ones first.
  10. We ordered yours with the fabric/tahara trim for two reasons, 1- we have had issues with out leather seat covers on our current IS300Luxury; 2- we had this combination on our last IS250Sport with no problems. The dealer explained that the new Tahara seats are constructed by inserting "foam" into the seat cover as opposed to having a slip-over seat cover. There was no offer of free leather seats and i didn't consider them as an option. As for cancelling the order, the only other car I test drove that i liked was the BMW330e, however my wife didn't like it, she doesn't like the BMW brand anyway. So the 2017 IS was top of and the only one on the list. As long as it arrives before the PCP runs out in June. I did contact Lexus customer service yesterday just to see what light they can throw on the delay and i am awaiting their reply.
  11. I'd rather have it before 1st April and not pay £140 a year.
  12. Sounds nice Tel, can't wait to see the photos. Ours is held up with an issue over the cloth seats.
  13. Yes ALanS, the new VED rates start 1st April, that's why we ordered ours for March. I think your has a combined co2 of 167 mg/km so £500 first year, then £140 every year after that. We ordered the cloth seats as we have had numerous issues with the leather ones ( at least 5 new seat covers).
  14. Had a call from our Lexus dealer to say our IS300h F-Sport, ordered for March has been delayed along with all IS's with fabric seats. We could have leather seats for March, but another £2000. No date was given when ours will arrive. If it doesn't come until April, we will have to pay the increased VED rates to the robbing Government.
  15. What about if you have one hard wired, does it draw current all the time? Will it flatten the little battery in the boot?
  16. Thanks for everyones input, i think a trip to Halfords is called for to see them in real life.
  17. I'm the same, i get the message if i try to start too quickly, it's human error.
  18. Thanks floggit, i have been looking at a Nextbase unit from Halfords, and we get 15% off with our LOC card.
  19. Just ordered an IS350h F-Sport, i am thinking of a dash cam for it. Has anyone any recommendations or experience fitting one?
  20. I cannot fault Lexus Wolverhampton for their customer care in both sales and service departments. We have been using them since 2001 and the only thing that has changed is the staff in the showroom. They must have a very fast churn rate as the receptionist is always different and we get a different sales person each new Lexus IS that we buy. The service department are very, very good. They are always polite when you visit them, even down to the man who collects your car for service and delivers you a loan car. We had a bad experience at Lexus Stoke three years ago when we were looking for a new IS hybrid. The salesman, who has now left, was insisting on selling us a white car when we wanted Mesa Red! No matter now many times we told him we wanted a red car, he was trying to sell us a white one. We revisited Lexus Stoke a couple of months ago and met a very nice salesman called Mike, who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the Lexus range. We had told both Lexus Wolverhampton and Lexus Stoke that we will be waiting for the 2017 IS300h F-Sport. I sent them both the same e-mail on Friday, 16th December, detailing the car we wanted and saying that we wanted delivery on or about 1st March. James from Wolverhampton replied with a message to say that although he was on holiday, he would contact us the following Monday, which he did. We have heard nothing from Lexus Stoke! Guess who we will be buying our new car from.
  21. We have been waiting long enough for this. All IS models get the safety package. Now I just need a dealer (Stoke or Wolverhampton) to let us know when we can order one.
  22. To get back onto the topic, i had an NX for 24hours ending today. Had a short drive around Stoke on Trent in an F-Sport in the pouring rain yesterday - did it rain?!? Then we had a Luxury overnight. We initially only went to see what the trim levels were on the different models of NX as the prices compare favourably with the IS300h. Our PCP on our IS300h Luxury ends in May and the thieving tax man is going to change the VED rates on 1st April even though we have cut our emissions from the old IS250 Sport. The Chancellor is obviously not getting enough road fund licence or petrol tax from me now so he is moving the goalposts yet again. I wonder what he really wants motorists to do. Long story short - the NEX F Sport was fitted up to the eyeballs with just about every extra you could have on it and it was tempting deal. However, driving the NX Luxury home through the winding and undulating roads from Staffordshire into Shropshire it showed that the engine is underpowered for the size of vehicle and I also did not like the way the engine screams on acceleration before the revs drop again via the CVT transmission which I am not 100% sure of (have test driven a BMW 330e with a "normal" auto box). The NX is a large and luxurious car but not for us. I am waiting for the 2017 IS300h to come available and we will be choosing between an F-Sport and probably a Luxury.
  23. Yes I took the car to Lexus Wolverhampton and they ordered a new drivers seat cover under warranty. I am now on my third drivers and second passanger seat cover, I think sort of lost count. The passanger seat is showing signs of wear on the bolster side, I don't think it's "normal wear". Perhaps you should move to Wolverhampton!
